Reason being, hes been all of these situations, and survived them all. And actually legit thinks it's him who is doing it. And coincidentally, so do the monsters. So it's not King, but it is Saitama's accolades that bring him the luck. Nobody wants to mess with him because they all think, its Saitama's strength. The ones who know. So they try and kill him anyway. But Saitama lives near by.....possibly near king does , am I right? They're walking around the neighborhood.
King is such a well written joke character in my opinion, you’ll see that his whole character is very consistent in terms of winning everything through sheer luck or intimidation

Yeah and most of the art was a bit bad but it was improved in the Blu ray edition which made a better experience for me. Overall the animation, music, acting and story is good!

There are a little few that are down right bad tho along with some of the art and cgi. Also the other thing that was hated during its release was the blurring which was not JC Staffs fault. Television companies these days are so paranoid but thankfully the blurring is removed in the Blu Ray edition.
Fun fact: when the op is start playing, that engine sound at the beginning "dum dum dum" is actually taken from King's scared heartbeat or most people call it King's engine roar. That and everyone believe the crater on the moon is made by King because he used the moon as his punching bag lol
Great reaction, as always. I'd like to point a few things without any spoilers. First, I do prefer the second season because of the storytelling and the character development. Multiple characters even. I don't have an issue with the animation, it is different but quite good. Second, if you go back you can actually see King in a few places during season 1, like in the very beginning before Vaccine Man attacked and also listening to Hammerhead. And third, they did break the fourth wall a bit when King said how long he'd been waiting for that game. That's the same as the time period between seasons 1 and 2.

It's not godly like in the 1st season but it's good. The 2nd season just overall gives more character depth and is more interesting.

There has been a discussion if King have powers or not, but when he tries to say he's weak, either people dont believe him, or something happens to block the revelation, in this episode we can see the bird monster attacking as soon as King starts talking, but Saitama of course is the only on immune to his "Power"

Season 2 is fun IMO because Saitama is established so we get to see more than just Saitama and Genos. But I love world building, so Biased I guess. Still plenty of One hit Wonders in season two to giggle at though.

But it's not a problem anymore because the bluray version removed the blur effect and did some improvements on it. The one you're watching is the TV version, why not switch to bluray version? As a pro in animation, I would say the second season looks fine... the board is less...good. Not terrible but the passing of season 1 was absolutly insane. Season 2 is way more ...bof... But, it's still decent. BUt people were expecting season 1 level of awesome and got less. NOt nothing but less.
Season 2 got the hate it did (and I was one of those haters for a short while) because it took several years to come out despite the success of season 1, and our impatience fueled the hatred when we saw how it turned out. Also the artstyle in the manga is GODLY. Yusuke Murata (the artist) is one of the most skilled artists in the industry and it shows in every single chapter. And ONE (the author) is also a really capable writer able to make a compelling story with lots of humor and amazing side characters. So fans just got kind of used to expecting the very best every time, and when we found out we had waited nearly 4 years to get it to look like that... you can probably see why it got the reactions it did. BTW I really recommend you read the manga when you're done with the anime, it's amazing. Sometimes great things happen and then they get completely removed or changed in a chapter redraw, which sucks, but overall i really like it. There's always things to speculate/talk about/get hyped for. Also don't underestimate King. He's way more powerful than you might think.
Metal Knight isn't a cyborg, he is basically King but he builds Robots and pilots them. People speculate that Drive Knight isn't AI he is a cyborg and he had an error went mad and lost his memory. But we wont know for months or maybe years even in the Manga. Actually, Now that I think of it, if Metal knight gave King a remote to one of those drones he'd take down God level threats with a remote controlled Furby.
Since you have the manga, when you read it you can compare how they draw Fubuki in the anime to how they draw her in the manga. It's probably the thing that stood out the most to me with Season 2. I think Madhouse did a much closer job in Season 1 and the OVA's.
Near the end of the episode, it should be known that the guy at the end is GAROUUU, Bangs ex disciple when he explained who garou was in the meteor episode!!

Afcource every studio has there own way to do it and the previous studio (Madhouse) is there for quite a long time (death note animated by madhouse) and in comparison to jc staff ( new studio) the work will look like low quality also they have less time and experience but some fights are insane late in the series fs

I seen theory floating around bout Genos that actually makes sense, That He, Himself, Is the Demon Cyborg that destroyed his hometown, Doctor mentioned having difficulties transferring a human brain into a Cyborg that thinks went South, Not only that but in a specific Manga panel that was Fixed!! It was a page full of villains and monsters the whole page and hidden in the page was Genos eye peeking through the other monsters, And the page was later changed and fixed to exclude Genos!! Theory is the Doctor after swapping Genos brain into Cyborg body due to difficulties Genos mindlessly went on a rampage before crashing and forgetting entire thing or Doctor wiped it from his memory, And since Genos Hero Work is also the Doctors attempt at redemption for such catastrophe, The theory then goes on to claim that Genos is really the One Punch Man Saitamas greatest enemy and Final Fight, Wether Genos knows it or not, Wether he has control over it or not, Would make for quite the interesting twist, Saitamas greatest friend, Disciple, Whos been with him from the start, Man that knows most about Saitama than anyone, Is unfortunately doomed to be Saitamas greatest disappointment, Having to deal with his own close friend whos been by his side for years before he can given he finds a way to deal with Saitama, or have to put him down before he can cause harm elsewhere similar to Genos home town... Quite the interesting theory for sure!!

Yeah there is a significant downgrade in the animation, artstyle and budget for this season, with increased use of not so good cgi, because they changed the studio at the last minute and hurriedly made this. But don't worry, the episodes get better from start to the end. The Story writing, character development and a certain 'someone' makes this season worth watching.
Agreed on all, save for the remark on art style. I very much prefer most of the character art in S2, especially on characters like King and Amai Mask; they both looked like absolute garbage in S1.
King's power is luck and Charisma. You'll see him take out one of the strongest Monster Association Cadres that not even multi-S Class Heroes combined could beat!!! Well... Eventually.
Try watching the blu ray version of season 2 if u can , its a bit better with no ghosting,better animations n better art. Tbh tho season 2 isnt as bad as people made it to be , its more like above avarage seasonal anime but they r mad cuz compared to season one its no where near close to it in term of animations
I recommend watching the blu ray release of this as opposed to the tv release. The TV release has horrible looking ghosting and dimming on the animation.

Season 2 is more like, average level anime quality. And that is just so jarring after season 1 hit a new high in animation when it came out. Just be sure to reread season 2 in the manga after watching it, as content was cut and things just not only look better in the manga but flows a lot better with the less cutting and zoom in season 2 likes to do

The reason the metal looks weird is because they made it all cgi (which I think is easier to animate).

If you think about it, King is legit the only character who can defeat Saitama. King has ultimate luck so Saitama attacking King would probably end bad for Saitama in some way.

Animation is not that bad it's just not as good as season 1 but you know different studios tackle things differently

Season 2 is more like, average level anime quality. And that is just so jarring after season 1 hit a new high in animation when it came out. Just be sure to reread season 2 in the manga after watching it, as content was cut and things just not only look better in the manga but flows a lot better with the less cutting and zoom in season 2 likes to do
The textures and generic background during fights anoyed me at first but One piece has that "art style" for 20 years... I can't complain much.
