The GEVO specifically the ES44AC will always be my favorite diesel locomotive ever made, despite many railfans getting tired of them, or thinking they're overrated. They're powerful, efficient, and are capable of pulling anything. Their Nathan K5HL horns are always so great to hear blasting at crossings, and I personally think the Nathan K5HL is the true king of the train horns not the Leslie RS5T. Also no matter how many times I see a GEVO I'll never get tired of seeing them when I'm railfanning CSX trains.
Nice. I like the CSX ES44's. I saw one in 2020. I usually don't see them because I usually see NS. And the one I saw was CSX 739. 739 is in my username!

nf 1p 1l k5hls (2nd gen k5hl) are prolly one of the best sounding horns ive ever heard, and csx 808 have a very rare 2nd gen k5hla
Csx 810 has a 2nd Gen K5hl now!
My favorite ES44AH locomotives from CSX are:
#796 with that low chugging
#969 with that hybrid K5HLA
#3030 with that sharp 3rd generation K5HL
*Unfortunately CSX 969 had one Bell stolen so now it's a K5HA*
CSX ET44AH Units Are 3250-3474
The CSX ES44AH Units
1st Batch Units:700-999
2nd Batch Units:3000-3249
I Love that CSX 2nd Batch like 3000 to 3249. But 3250 to 3474 are CSX ET44AH. Thanks for the information, and I agree.
Some of the units in the 3000s series were renumbered because of the new CSX heritage units
969’s hybrid K5HL just sounds like a K5LLA
It sure does!! Even 595s.
969’s horn is a K5HLA
I’ve actually caught 3000, pretty neat seeing one of the first Gevos
5:11 K5HLL on it.
Sounds a little different compared to 1982's K5HLL.
Great documentation of these workhorses!
Railroads who use Nathan K5H horns are born cool
CSX 911's horn is also a K5LA, used to have an RS5T, CSX 1776's horn is an S5T, 3194's is an RS5T
Ironic how csx 3299 was involved in the folkston collision leading I032
Any reason why CSX's trucks are different compared to the other railroads ES44AC's?
Nice video
Csx 3000-3499 are ET44AH and Csx engines 700-999 are ES44AHs!!
It’s actually 3300 to 3499
@@supra7352 Oh ok!
@@supra7352wait lots of the 3200s are et44ahs too.
The best Gevos are the early ES44AHs..
Can you do the es40dc next?
CSX Actually brought the SD70ACes in 2004
Let’s do the SD50S next the rarest one
Great Video🚂🚂🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋
Ok this is just me but the K5HL 3rd gen horn just sounds really dull, it’s like they took all of the lowest notes for horns and put them together

Here’s another lock my should do for this playlist the csx et44ac or the gevo
Et44ah My faut

On My Brazil Launch The New Locomotive For Rumo And Suzano And MRS Logistica And Inpasa It's ES44ACi
Suggestion:Can You Do A Engines Of Csx Documentary Of The Es40dc?
I was born a year after the ES44AC
However CSX 911's RS5T Horn Was Stolen In 2021 And Same For The Upper Number Boards And Installed A K5LA 90s Horn And Newer Number Boards
