The Defence Force Football Club (DFFC) is proud to present the “Women’s
Warriors Wellness Cup,” a premier women’s football competition celebrating
strength, resilience, and wellness among women. This week-long event will
feature six teams competing in sportsmanship and camaraderie, including two
national and four club teams.
Dates:
o Start Date: 13 July 2024
o End Date: 19 July 2024
National Teams:
▪ Trinidad and Tobago National Women’s Team
▪ Grenadian National Women’s Team
o Club Teams:
▪ Defence Force Women’s Football Club
▪ University of Trinidad and Tobago Women’s Team
▪ Queen’s Park Cricket Club Women’s Team
▪ Club Sando Women’s Football Team
Competition Format
o Group Stage
▪ Two groups of three teams each
▪ Round-robin format within each group
▪ The top two teams from each group advance to the semi-finals.
o Semi-Finals:
▪ First place in Group A vs. Second place in Group B
▪ First place in Group B vs. Second place in Group A
o Finals
▪ Winners of the semi-finals compete for the championship
▪ Losers of the semi-finals compete for third place.
Assisting the Grenada National Women’s Team Post-Hurricane Beryl
The aftermath of Hurricane Beryl has left Grenada grappling with significant
challenges, particularly in rebuilding community infrastructure and restoring
normalcy. The Women Warriors Wellness Football Competition presents a
unique opportunity to support the Grenada National Women’s Team during this
difficult time.
Moreover, the competition can serve as a fundraising and awareness platform.
Highlighting the Grenadian team’s plight can attract donations and support from
other participating teams, sponsors, and spectators. These funds can contribute
to rebuilding sports infrastructure in Grenada and providing direct aid to
affected athletes and their families.
