I mean, not everyone ships it. It's just a popular ship, besides, someone who worked on Voltron shipped it, someone in the comments said that whoever was using the Netflix twitter or whatever idk tweeted they shipped it and apparently was supposed to be canon so like...it's a valid ship-
Fun little fact the creators of voltron said Klance was going to be cannon and so was Shiro and Allura which is why she appeared older (around Shiros age) in the first few seasons until the creators decided not to which is understandable. Klance on the other hand was supposed to happen and it was supposed to happen in season 8 hince a lot of freak out from excited fans. Apparently the studio didn’t like the attention that Klance got and never put it in to “punish the fans” for creating such an excited atmosphere for the ship and not so much the show. It’s also why the fans have all but died dreamworks promised and then stabbed us in the back. So Klance make perfect sense because the story was leading there already and former fans are now pissed at the studio (I’m a former fan that had a hyper fixation on the show so learned everything I could needless to say I’m pissed lol)
I agree with everything else. Except klance. To me and a lot of others, it makes a lot of sense, and it breaks my heart that the show didn’t make it canon. But this is your opinion and I accept that. But like I said, I totally agree with the first three
Yeah me too, i agree with the first three execpt the last one. shiro and allura isnt it, shiro is gay. Shiro and keith isnt it for me either,i see shiro as a big brother towards keith. Lotor and allura, i used to love and adore them until the writer fucked them up, they had more chemistry then allurance (i dont hate allurance i do like it but wished they bulit uo some chemistry between them😢) Keith and lance, i like this ship, they did have some chemistry and they were funny. 😂

Finally someone agrees with me on klance. I can understand how someone would ship it. I get the chemistry going on between them. I just never saw it in a romantic sense. i can see them as brothers in arms, and even best friends, but not a romantic couple. Not to mention most of the klance shippers (at least the ones I've seen) actively trash on people who ship these two with other people. I've been a kacxa shipper since forever, and season 8 got me on the allurance train, but any fan art I find always has some klance shipper trashing on it. You can't even find a lot of fan works on this show that dont have klance so it really feels like people are trying to choke it down your throat even when you feel otherwise. News flash people! Exactly Lance spent most of his time trying to woo allura which soon Allura started knowing him and fell for him. And for Lotallura, It honestly disgusts me, he fooled her when she had general feelings for him. If you genuinely think they hate each other, you really need to rewatch the whole show. Sure they give each other shit but they also share some nice moments and grow to respect each other a lot, even during season 1. They're rivals, but even lovers can be rivals.

And that's when taking the NON-CANON ages from the handbook. I don't ship it but that's not the weirdest age gap ever (Rapunzel/Eugene were 18 and 26 but no one complains about that because they're both adults and are a healthy relationship)
I'd say it doesn't make sense because Lance is pretty comfortably straight. From what I remember we don't grt an exact read on Keith's sexuality but honestly he gives off the same vibes of: "Wanna go upstairs?" "Why what's up there?" "Did you bring protection?" "WHY WHAT'S UP THERE??"

Honestly, Klance makes the least sense on this list other than Shiro and Allura. Lotor and Allura makes sense because they genuinely had feelings for each other, not saying they should have been together, because he ended up betraying her, but they still had real and canon feelings. Shiro and Allura felt too heavily implied with how much they made Shiro protective of her in the early seasons, but they obviously made him gay last minute to satisfy the community, so they would have made sense if it wasn’t for the last minute change. Shiro and Keith had the greatest bond in the entire show. Out of all romantic, friendship and family relationships, their connection and bond was the strongest in the show and the only one that felt like good writing. Plus, Keith only seemed to care about Shiro the entire show, he seemed to lack any feelings for any of his other teammates. He literally left the team for dead to get Shiro back. He could live in a universe where he lost everyone he knew but kept Shiro, but he couldn’t live in a universe where everyone was safe and he lost Shiro. Then you have Keith and Lance, barely any interactions, didn’t care for each other, if anything, they seemed to hate each other. Lance only wanted Allura, Keith only cared for Shiro.
THIS! THANK YOU! IT'S DOUBLY IRONIC BECAUSE KLANCE SHIPPERS Dislike both those pairings but Lance literally is a RIDE OR DIE FOR ALLURA and Keith is a RIDE OR DIE FOR SHIRO. They literally have more screen time with those characters than each other it makes the pairing look even weirder. How are you going to say a ship makes sense when you: 1. Don't have a hug scene 2. Both characters have done things for others yet not each other. 3. Barely have interaction.
Klance literally had more chemistry than Allurance did, because Lance was just a rebound for Lotor, Lance was always going to be Allura’s second choice. Allurance was cannon in the end because they had to replace the original writers for Legendary Defender for some reason and the new writers didn’t want Klance to be cannon, even though it was supposed to. Also to point out, when Lance save Allura and DIED doing so, all she said was “you saved me” or some bullshit like that, she didn’t even thank him properly. Kind of weird to do that if you love that person. And afterwards no one even mentions that Lance died, it’s like no one cared that he did.

I feel like the first one could work if the story is more about how things could have gone if he'd been more genuine. No secretly being a psychopath or betraying the main cast. Just focus on him being a son seeing his father become less and less of the man he looked up to until finally he can't stand seeing the monster he has become and so he becomes a rebel. But having them become a couple after his betrayal or a having him have second thoughts about everything because of suddenly developing real feelings for the princess just feels kinda cheap.
technically Keith is 20 after the time travel part and Lance is what, 17?? The writers did all these characters dirty, especially the ending of season 6

You can't just put "doesn't make sense" as a reason you hate a ship. While it may not make any sense to you, it does to others, and now you're the one being rude/insulting about other's opinions. It has to be "x, y, z is WHY this ship doesn't make sense" In a different fandom, there's a ship doesn't make any sense to me but plenty of people like it, but I wouldn't just say that it doesn't make sense as my reasoning. I understand that Klance is not everyone's cup of tea, and you are at no fault for disliking or even hating it.
If I remember right, a group of Klance shippers sent ACFUAL DEATH THREATS to the Voltron voice actors and their families to try and get Klance to become canon. They also tried blackmailing the show’s creators with the same goal in mind. Like…Klance was never gonna be canon no matter what people did. Lance was never interested in Keith beyond a friendship to begin with, and as much as I didn’t like the series’ ending, canonizing Klance with like, ZERO romantic buildup would’ve made it even worse. Lotura sucks just as much, it was all Lotor taking advantage of Allura’s crush on him to keep her in line and use the Paladins to his advantage.

I dont like shipping klance because as you said, there is no romantic chemistry and i feel like they are just frenemies or rivals instead of lovers. When i see people making fanart of klance I get weirded out and personally (my opinion) I dont like the ship, I prefer allura with lance :D

Honestly, Klance makes the least sense on this list other than Shiro and Allura. Lotor and Allura makes sense because they genuinely had feelings for each other, not saying they should have been together, because he ended up betraying her, but they still had real and canon feelings. Shiro and Allura felt too heavily implied with how much they made Shiro protective of her in the early seasons, but they obviously made him gay last minute to satisfy the community, so they would have made sense if it wasn’t for the last minute change. Shiro and Keith had the greatest bond in the entire show. Out of all romantic, friendship and family relationships, their connection and bond was the strongest in the show and the only one that felt like good writing. Plus, Keith only seemed to care about Shiro the entire show, he seemed to lack any feelings for any of his other teammates. He literally left the team for dead to get Shiro back. He could live in a universe where he lost everyone he knew but kept Shiro, but he couldn’t live in a universe where everyone was safe and he lost Shiro. Then you have Keith and Lance, barely any interactions, didn’t care for each other, if anything, they seemed to hate each other. Lance only wanted Allura, Keith only cared for Shiro.

Allurance was cannon in the end because they had to replace the original writers for Legendary Defender for some reason and the new writers didn’t want Klance to be cannon, even though it was supposed to. Also to point out, when Lance save Allura and DIED doing so, all she said was “you saved me” or some bullshit like that, she didn’t even thank him properly. Kind of weird to do that if you love that person. And afterwards no one even mentions that Lance died, it’s like no one cared that he did.

The story is perfect and i like that the story finishes with us the fandom still having questions abt our characters future. Exept for allura im really happy on how the show came out
I feel like the first one could work if the story is more about how things could have gone if he'd been more genuine.
No secretly being a psychopath or betraying the main cast. Just focus on him being a son seeing his father become less and less of the man he looked up to until finally he can't stand seeing the monster he has become and so he becomes a rebel.
But having them become a couple after his betrayal or a having him have second thoughts about everything because of suddenly developing real feelings for the princess just feels kinda cheap.

You can't just put "doesn't make sense" as a reason you hate a ship. While it may not make any sense to you, it does to others, and now you're the one being rude/insulting about other's opinions. It has to be "x, y, z is WHY this ship doesn't make sense" In a different fandom, there's a ship doesn't make any sense to me but plenty of people like it, but I wouldn't just say that it doesn't make sense as my reasoning. I understand that Klance is not everyone's cup of tea, and you are at no fault for disliking or even hating it.
If I remember right, a group of Klance shippers sent ACFUAL DEATH THREATS to the Voltron voice actors and their families to try and get Klance to become canon. They also tried blackmailing the show’s creators with the same goal in mind. Like…Klance was never gonna be canon no matter what people did. Lance was never interested in Keith beyond a friendship to begin with, and as much as I didn’t like the series’ ending, canonizing Klance with like, ZERO romantic buildup would’ve made it even worse.
Lotura sucks just as much, it was all Lotor taking advantage of Allura’s crush on him to keep her in line and use the Paladins to his advantage.
