- The Lenovo Yoga Book 9i is the world’s first dual-screen laptop. But is it really worth it?
In this video, I will share with you my honest review of this laptop after using it for one month. You will see the pros and cons of this laptop, and how it helps me with my daily activities.
You will also see some issues that Lenovo has promised to fix by the end of the year, and some workarounds that I have found.
So, watch this video until the end to find out if the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i is the right laptop for you.
Thanks so much for reviewing this laptop. I was contemplating on getting one of those screen attachments for trading while traveling but that will will add to the load i would have to carry around.
💝💝💝💝💝💝💝 Hi~~ Jesse~~~ I’m enjoying with your tube by first subscriber.
Alternative devices : There is also the spectre Fold and asus is bringing out an alternative next week at CES conference.
The biggest problem with this device is the virtual keyboard. its not customizable. you can't set any key colors, key fonts, you can't change the layout to AZERTY or another layout. You can't create custom buttons (micros)
I did exactly the same, switched my older Macbook to the YB9i. I use the Apple Magic Mouse, with a driver. I love it! But I'm also happy with the 200% scaling...
Than you hit the jackpot :D 🔥

I love this laptop . Havent hadnt any issues
They did an update few days ago. Most of my issues are resolved
Hi, Yoga book 9i's PWM is 60 hz, it,s a quite low. Does it make your eyes uncomfortable when you look at the display for hours?
Honneslry, I haven't noticed it. Now I was used to a monitor of the macbook pro 2017. It has the same refresh rate. So I am used to this. If you downgraded to this, perhaps there is a clear difference. But for me if just looks beautiful
I think he said PWM not refresh rate, PWM frequency is the frequency used for dimming the screen, low PWM frequencies could make the screen show noticable flickering and strain your eyes. @@jessevanro
@@Osama-wj5gn Fake News...
Hi Jesse, are you in the U.S.? and 16 Gb of ram is enough for your daily usage?
Not in the USA, I am in Europe (Belgium)
16 gb is for sure enough for daily usage.
But it's still just 16 ram,
Video editing, Photoshop and sometimes stock trading is not as fast as I like it to be, but for sure manageable.
With my laptop, I can do basic vidoe editing with resonable editing. For some more asvenced video editing. Definitely not possible.
I can run my trading software, + use two extra screens every day. It works, no problem (let's say it works perfect 80% of the time)
My conclusion: it's like buying an underpowered racecar. It's damn great if you just need to get around, but once you start racing you will feel the lack of power.
I would like to see the laptop with the new ARM semiconductors. Not sure if, and when thst will happen
@@jessevanro Mate, I am interested in Zenbook Duo 2024 which its spec is better than Yogabook but worse in term of quality control and after sale service.
@@abcdef7660 just looked at the specs,
They are significant better on Asus.
Better cpu + more ram + double the refresh rate and it's cheaper (in Europe at least)
Also, when used as a laptop. Asus wins.
Logically it's a no brainer to choose Asus.
But, Asus don't have the best reputation for warranty claims. (search usus, warranty on yt)
With lenovo, unfamiliar with their reputation.
Lenovo looks way better and the screens can fully turn 360, so you can use it as a tablet and if you install the Google play store, you have a real tablet. Damn useful turning of the screens.
I want the asus specs in the lenovo laptop.
@@jessevanro Thank you for your advice. As PWM sensitive user, I am not sure I can use Lenovo Oled display, but Asus has Oled flicker free feature which can protect my eye from PWM.
@@abcdef7660 I guess, you found the best one for you!
Hello fellow trader, what broker do you use for your trading.
My brokers is Alaric Securities
Hi, does 60hz refresh rate bother you?
Not at all. But I am not used to a monitor with a higher refresh rate. If, I used a better monitor for a while, perhaps, it would start to bother me.
@@jessevanro Thx, and do you regret choosing Yogabook 9i instead of Macbook pro 14? If you could make a decision one more time, what will you choose?
I am thinking about the same choices.
@@abcdef7660 the thing, I need windows for software I use. It doesn't work on mac. If I didn't need it, I am not sure I would still buy windows.
But let me tell you one thing. Once you get used to 2 screens. It's so convenient. The from factor of this laptop makes it so fun to work on different tasks. I still love the MacOs more than windows, but windows 11 did an incredible job, I costumised it so it feels similar to how I set up my mac. The screens look beautiful, laptop is fast and does everything I need it. The touch screen, I use it more then I expected and the ability to actually write notes and write on images is something I don't want to give up on! Look for example at the reviews on bestbuy, gives you an good indication how people feel after recieving this one. (Still consider the 200% scaling isseu and multiple monitor issue that isn't solved yet).
Now, if you need very powerhungry tasks (editing 4k footage) And want something perfect out of the box, mac will perform better, mac has better speakers, mac is faster, mac has a better battery life, mac is perfectly integrated with IPhone (windows has a surprisingly good integration with android)
So whatever machine you choose, you will be happy! But, if I could choose again and what I needed worked perfectly on mac, I would still choose the yoga book 100% of the time, it's not perfect, but I love the machine.
@@jessevanro Thanks for your kind advice, I am thinking about Yogabook, Yoga Pro 9i and Macbook Pro. By the way my tasks are easy no render, no video editing, and no game at all.
Lenovo. I need a 16 inch 4k version of this laptop! Make it happen now!
No you don't need 4k on a 16 inch display, that's an overkill.
@@Osama-wj5gn I'm a vfx artist/digital nomad. Working with 4k footage on 2k monitors sucks. Also, if you do a side by side comparisn of text and images on a 4k and a 2k, you'll never go back to a 2k external again. I also need portability for world traveling.
Currently, I'm rocking 2X C-Force 4k portables, but I'm looking into the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i VS the Asus Zenbook Duo. Screens are a bit small for my taste, so that why I prefer 16 or 17 inch 4k OLED if possible.
@LostAndHangry The thing is, you can't read text on the small 4k monitor without setting scaling to +200% or 300%, which can make a lot of scaling issues in apps as windows scaling isn't perfect (In case you're using windows). But yeah, since you are an artist, i can understand why you'd need 4K.
Mate, are you stil happy with Yogabook 9i?
Yess, still happy with it! It's a bit underpowered, but overal happy with it.
I am going to buy hp pro book 8gb 256gb ssd is that enough for trade
Yes for sure!
@@jessevanro thanks
You are wrong about one tiny thing... This isn't the first generation! Believe it or not this is Lenovo's second go at the concept, but the first time around, they got little fanfare and it was definitely a highly flawed product. I think this second attempt is vastly improved. I think it's a great laptop for artists and creatives as well.
Oh also, the screen scaling issue you and others were complaining about has been fixed in a recent update. I was even one of the beta testers for this update. It's working great so far!
Oh I didn't know that! Thanks for the information.
And yess scaling issue is resolved, very happy about it!
You are wrong. This is their first generation Dual Screen laptop which is why you didn't mention the name of the made up laptop in your comment.
It was worth it until it wasn't. I had to return the laptop today as the wifi card stopped working. Glad I had my membership with Best Buy. As such, I was able to return the laptop after 30 days. I will wait for Gen 2 on this model.
I have high expectations for gen 2 :D
@jessevanro As do I. The laptop was amazing when it worked. I would absolutely say the machine needs 32gb of ram. I was always hovering around 84%-88% on ram. If I shut down ALL of my programs and only had a few windwos open, I could get it down to around 56% or so. There is a TON of bloatware on this machine. Looking at open programs, those programs are taking up a large swath of ram.
@@steveellsworth2547 Yes I agree, the concept and laptop is amazing!
But it's like riding a Lamborgini with a engine of a regular hatchback. Yet you still pay the premium.
So more ram and a better graphics card would be much appreciated.
Now when editing videos I do notice the lack of power. I did what I could to remove the bloatware, but seeing processes running in the background with that little ram, I am also around 80%
But yes, gen first product. I am excited for the future, the next gen, love the form factor.
@@steveellsworth2547 Yeah, bloatware is becoming a real problem on modern laptops, from all the major brands sadly. I always use a Windows 10/11 debloating script when I first set up any new PC. There are many you can find around on the internet.
No rational person spends 2,000 on a laptop, encounters a problem, and does not try and get it fixed.
Why didn't you reach out to Best Buy or Lenovo and ask for assistance?
Best Buy's return policy is 15 days, not 30 days.
For Best Buy Plus Members it is 60 days.
None of Best Buy programs have a 30 day return policy.
Not the first dual-screen laptop. Iconia 6120 is.
Didn't know,
That is impressive honesty
And now I discovered that one is not even the firts.
The Toshiba Libretto W105 is
@@jessevanro My word! That thing looks like a DS. I didn't know they could get them that small back then.
sorry bro but you looked frustrated talking about it 😆
Don't know, what can I say? 😅 Thanks hahaha
It will not be good for trading ⁉️. Please tell me truth 🙂
It is so much better then a macbook 2017 running windows :D
@@jessevanro will i able to trade properly ⁉️

At this stage, there is two big flaws what makes it very annoying to use.
1. Scaling resets to 200% - I use 150% for trading. Thus you need to use a shortcut, or keep the laptop awake. Unless you like the standard scaling.
2. Connecting extra monitors might be a hassle as well, just as the scaling resets, where external monitors are places changes.
So, if you don't use external monitor and don't mind that the standard scaling, go for it! It's a great machine. If you also don't mind the workarounds. Also do it, it's a great machine.
If not, better to wait until lenovo fixed these flaws, they promised an update to solve it by the end of December.
@@jessevanro Thank you so much bro ❤️
Question: Who uses a track pad on a touch screen laptop with pen support?
Answer: A MacBook user🤣😂🤣
😂 😂 😂
no is not
haha from investing guru to YT product seller. why ? no success with your trading stuff ?
Hi my friend, it's my new trading laptop 😄
Quite some people asked me if this laptop was any good.
So, decided to make a review so I don't need to explain it.
Also, most people who I have seen reviews of don't talk about some obvious flaws in the software.
Because they don't actually use this as their daily driver.
I also think you missed to part where I say this laptop is not worth it price.
Anyhow, don't worry! *trading guru content is coming soon again!
Hope to see you there 🤑
