Many women, myself included, often use hair ties to create hairstyles.
However, most of the rubber bands we buy in stores are made from synthetic materials and are not safe or environmentally friendly.
I thought about it and wanted to make something beautiful and useful from the fabrics I had accumulated over the years of sewing, so I decided to create my own version of the perfect scrunchie!
I sewed my first elastic band and showed the pattern to my friends, they were delighted with the idea!
The elastic band turned out to be very convenient to use and looked impressive on the hair, and most importantly, it holds the hair perfectly without damaging it.
I made scrunchies for friends and then started making custom scrunchies for other people, which not only became a way for me to contribute to conservation, but also an opportunity to make extra money!
Currently, environmentally friendly products are in great demand. I sew my elastic bands from leftover fabric, which allows me to reduce production costs and offer my customers a high-quality eco-product at a reasonable price.
I cut out two squares 23x23 cm.
I fold it in four layers, measuring a diameter of 5 cm from the center.
I cut out a circle.
I make notches around the entire circumference.
I turn it to the front side.
I iron it and fold the edges inward.
I sew in a circle, retreating 1.5 cm and leaving an unsewn piece for the elastic.
I insert the rubber band.
I sew up the area for the elastic.
I sew along the contour of the entire elastic band.
This is such a beauty I got!
Using leftover fabric to create hair ties is a great way to do your part to save the environment and do something useful for yourself and others.
In addition, such a hobby is a great opportunity to earn money for small cravings without much work and worries!
