    Ever since the start of Spring Training, it appears Wilyer has been feeling the weight of expectations. He let it get to him. Needs to go back down and get his head together. He’s far better than what he’s shown so far.
    I’m hoping Wikelman Gonzalez, Richard Fitts, and Luis Perales continue to develop. So important for the Red Sox to develop pitchers within their system.

    • @redseatradio

  • @Versatilty
    @Versatilty 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I agree with most of what you've said I'm a little more pessimistic with timelines either because they go through set backs or because it's beneficial to the organization to give them more time either to lengthen their control or because they don't want to waste control on a year that won't matter. Generally I think that puts all these guys about 6 months to a year behind what the target year is usually listed. So that puts these guys more on track for 2025, late 2025, and 2026 then any time in 2024 but they are all getting closer. The O's might have the best AAA team this year but I think we will have the best AA team.

    • @redseatradio
      @redseatradio  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah I think the AA team is the best in baseball or really close too it idk about a full year behind schedule I’m sure there will be some cases where these guys get knocked back a year we have seen it already, but fully healthy I think most is 6 months

    We should feel quite blessed here in "Red Sox Nation" that we root for a MLB franchise on the rise ... Though the Yankees have also gotten off to a great start at 6-1, I don't see this large market franchise having a sustained winning future ahead due to their short sightedness in caving in to free agent market demands while trading away their young minor league talent for established MLB veteran players ... It won't surprise me to see Hal Steinbrenner finally "lower the boom" and terminate Brian Cashman in early October after the conclusion of the regular season ...

    Corbin, ouija board or Worcester Medium? Power crystal, tarot cards, or Crystal Ball? Why does so many RS fans want prospect predictions? The biggest part of your video was naming lower tier pitching prospects which demonstrates that these prospects questions are meaningless now. No Nick Yorke mention because he is the one trade chip actually get them some pitching in return. Why bring up any of these prospects this year?

    Catching is the hardest position on the field and though his bat may be major league ready soon, the mental part takes time. Hopefully the Sox don't rush him like they did Blake Swihart. The rest of our prospects I think will be given time to develop as long as there's no need at the Majors....

    Fitts has a lot of upside potential. So in AAA, we have a minimum of 2 potential starters should they be needed, which I believe they will. The other starters in AAA should receive the coaching to get them to the next level. Kile Teal will be the person they work on the most. They want him ready as soon as possible. Red Sox catching is fine right now. Connor Wong has made an effort to improve his offense, so we should start seeing those results.. Reese McGuire is a contact hitter. He won't hit a lot of home runs, but he will make contact and have a good average.

    • @redseatradio
      @redseatradio  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah I’m not too sure what their true timeline on teel is. Again they don’t need him and the longer they wait the more control they have. I would still be (pleasantly) surprised if he’s in the bigs this year

      I encourage you to go read blaze’s page on soxprospects. If you’re interested in the Red Sox farm system they also have a podcast that’s best in class as far as Red Sox prospects are concerned. But they haven’t been as high on blaze rankings wise because he’s a right handed first baseman with an average hit tool. But they also said he’s lost a lot of baby fat this offseason so he might be able to make a jump soon if his hitting improves from being in better shape.
      Here is the summary from his page
      “Summation: Potential up-and-down bench bat. Ceiling of a bat-first, second division regular, likely at first base. Really has to hit, as he is maxed out and has a tough profile as a potential right-right first baseman. A favorite of predictive models due to his age compared to his draft class, elite exit velocities, and bat speed. Needs to show he can hit advanced pitching in order to tap into his raw power, which is his best tool. Will have to watch his conditioning but took a significant step forward in that regard entering 2024. Ultimate defensive position is likely first base, but has a better chance to be able to play at least part-time at third base now than when he signed.”
