My wife and I celebrated 50 years this past August 10. I bought her a dozen roses and took her to dinner at one of her favorite restaurants. When we got home that night, I put this song on, held her close and we slow danced in our living room. She had tears in her eyes as I serenaded the chorus of this song to her. It was sweet. I love her dearly and want the world to know. ❤
@CYBERemnant My wife and I had our 52nd last June. We have only two songs we dance to. This is one and the other is "Without You" which is the only song I ever sang to her.
64 yrs young here and I hear this song and it takes me back to my younger years! It still hits me deep in my spirit, and it will always remain one of my all time favorites ❤
This wonderful song takes me back to the late 70s and one of the biggest mistakes of my life, Sherry Arnett. An amazing girl with the most beautiful smile I've ever seen. This was one of her favorite songs. In my foolishness of youth, I let her down and we couldn't get past that. Sherry, 40+ years later and I still think of you often. Hope your life has been blessed. I'm sure that if I saw you now, my heart would go crazy. Thanks Paul Davis for the beautiful song and wonderful memories. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.
47 years & going. His love.......the rough year that cancer took us through. I'd sit n watch my husband while I was very sick. I kept thinking what if I don't wake up? What if I don't make it? What's going to happen to him? He cried when I cried, he was in pain when I was hurting so much. I felt the strong love from my husband. After 2 1/2 years of remission we've come closer than ever before. Together we fought a battle against cancer. Together we've come this far n beat it! Thank God for giving us strength. Thank God for the love we share! I love this song!
What a beautiful comment! Many of us never find a love like that. May you both have many more years of tremendous happiness. You're blessed. Stay safe and well 💕💕💕🥳
Bad ass jam I’m 28 years old and I play this thinking of my mom enjoying this she still loves this song💯 2019 almost 2020 who’s still playing this? The oldies they’ll never be replaced🥂🥃
I can’t believe I was 15 when this song was on the radio, I am old now 61 & I love listening to my music of the old days it’s great memories & some of the best music ever produced
It was my grandfather and grandmothers song. He died of cancer young actually and we were close. It sucks. Agree totally wrecks. Not much real emotion left in music anymore. I'm not even criticizing it.. Its just too digitized. Even if they tried they can't make music feel again, not that they lack skill....the equipment just lacks feeling.
This song has a power that few others have. Either it evokes memories of an old/lost/deceased lover, or a one-sided longing for a crush that never was. Which ever one it is for you, enjoy the ride and the few private tears it may bring. First hearing this as a child, I loved the melody. Later it brought me both of the above memories. RIP Paul, thank you for impacting so many of us so powerfully.
I think they do. You have to sort of search for it. My experience with TH-cam is it works like pandora, suggesting music that might suit your tastes. It's introduced me to lots of things I never would have encountered otherwise. I love these sing=songwriter balladeers and great vocals. If you "like" songs you listen to on youtube, listen to the suggested music. Hope you find beautiful things.
I lost track of this song and just heard it again! I absolutely loved this one back in “my days” lol. Reminded me of the greatest love I had; lost, then had again, only to lose him to a massive heart attack. Loved that man; my only man!
kenpalmer1965 It's our own fault though. We tolerated music to become violent, insulting and disrespectful. Same can be said with all the garbage on T.V. and film. The generation before us were too strict and we too lenient. But simply if there is no market, crap won't be made for the masses.
jonjor1987 I too like that era of music being I was a high school kid during the early 80's(1980-1983). I also like a bit of the late 80's up through the early 90's as well.
I love the song. It's soft, smooth and so full of love. It's me when I see my first love. The flame never died after 53 years it's still there for me. The song brings back memories I will never forget.
Totally amazes me how a song can reach one's soul and take you back at the exact moment seeing your true love again after so many years and wondering if she still feels the same way 😔 I guess I'll never know??
This song hits me deep... When you've had that special chemistry with someone, it never fades, even as the years and decades go by, no matter what. Only distance and never seeing that person again can heal it.
14 years old, cool, crisp, late fall, the smell of leaves burning, sitting on the steps listening to a Walkman, holding hands in 100% love= great memories!
Man, this takes me back.... 1977... 8th grade... I had a crush on a girl who didn't even know my name! She was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen in my life! This song would come on the radio and I would think about her, and how I felt about this girl who didn't even know who I was! Ain't it funny? ...As kids, what we think love is. Still, this is when we are at our most honest...our most pure. Maybe this is the way it should be....Maybe our loves should be as innocent and pure as that of a thirteen-year old. Maybe this world would be a lot better if none of us ever grew up!
Thanks for posting this. I wasn't around in 1977 (wasn't even a thought!) but I really love seeing these stories on these classic songs of love and love lost (and maybe even never found) from decades ago. Reminds me that the world truly does go on. Much love, pops. Hope you're doing good.
@@RumbleFish69 I'm right there with you both, I am Nobody and Andrea. I'm 62 and remember mine so very well. 1978, college where I met her. Felt that certain "something" the first time I saw her walk into the room. Her smile, that laughter, her voice. We talked and went out a day later. I fell so hard for her. Days went by, the nights came. So much shared between us. Small talk, large conversations about the future. But alas it did not last. My fault for taking her for granted. She will always be my Sherry!
Best love song ever! Every time I hear it, it sends chills down me. The song is so relatable and hearing him sing the song you can so feel his pain. We’ve all had someone in our life that we have never truly been able to forget! ❤️❤️❤️
omg 😳 the high school Friday night dances of the 70’s all over again 😊✌️i wish all the young people of today could’ve been there to see what it was like back then .. it’s such a messed up world today 😔
There's a reason this song spent so much time on the charts. I've heard many a heart string tugger in my 46+ years roamin' this mudball and none require kleenex like this one. Looking forward to hearing his voice in heaven when I make the journey! Happy Birthday Paul!!!
Damn, I heard this song on the radio and it made me remember how much I liked it so many years ago. I now am playing it over and over again, and am hooked on it once again.
What a beautiful/masterpiece/masterclass of a soulful/harmonious, ballad of a true manly love song to a woman! Respect and Salute to Mr. Paul Davis: singer/artist/songwriter.
Great Song!!..I'm 40,reminds me of when I was a kid,(10rs old)When my mother n father were still very much in love, they played these oldie classics frequently...1 yr later they got divorced.. They hated each other at the time, always arguing... My dad eventually got remarried but passed away at 40,I was 20...Massive funeral, fam, friends the whole 9..My Fathers wife (remarried)was there,,so was my mom n her side of the fam and us 3 kids.. The whole room cleared out upon request from my mother when the service was finishing up. She kneeled down next to my fathers open casket while grasping my younger sisters, younger brothers and my hand. They played this song especially for this moment. ..All those years of arguing and fighting followed by divorce I thought they were mortal enemies, truth is they loved each other to death. The tears down my mothers eyes and looking at us kids while this song played was indeed very special and sentimental...My Mother lost the love of HER LIFE!.It killed us all..They fought a lot but loved each other dearly... Nostalgia...TRUE STORY
This song was so raw and full of true emotion. Words spoke so true. This song was the first song I heard after the first time a girl broke up with me. Just crushed me. All better now, hehehe 25yrs married:)
Then the answer is to realise that he'd want you to love yourself as much as you love him, and not less... that's the way to adjusting to the seemingly impossible, and to recovery and certainty. Avoid letting the past destroy your soul and ruin your future happiness. Regards. Mark.
Every time I hear this song it gives me chills... it's from the heart and I bet almost everyone has gone through this emotions once in their life.. I sure did...
When love songs like this came along, of the 70's (my)generation, it became more clearer and established that there's nothing better than love💜.....if removing all doubt and surrender. Now I'm not talking about any kind of abusive relationship, lying, cheating, etc., these actions are not inspired by love at all. When having enough mutual love to endure openly and honestly through the fire 🔥....we will discover why love is the answer.....if you last the test?
Remembering the very first time I actually feel in love with a beautiful girl in my teens. When I hear this song, I don't feel sick and struggling with PTSD and being completely alone. I see those eyes and that first time my chest felt like it was going to explode. One of the greatest experiences ever, in my life!!!!! 😍
I wasn't alive when this came out, but somehow songs like this can paralyze me with nostalgia and a hard to describe feeling as if I lived another life.
@Renea Mallory Everything happens for a reason. We don't always know why but they do. Sometimes we meet the right person for us but at the wrong time in our lives to see or understand what we have in front of us. "I Go Crazy" can bring a rush of memories from the past that are both good and sad but I keep coming back to listen again and again. Hope you have had an amazing life none the less!
It never ceases to amaze me, the Beauty One can see by looking into the eyes of the One whom they love. It can be, just as this Song brings out : "When I look in your Eyes, I go crazy." 🤗 💖 🙄 🎶

Did you ever have a time in your life when everything seemed to go right ? This song takes me back to a great year in my life, 1978. Thank you Paul Davis snd R.I.P.

Great song, this song reminds me of a trip I took from NY to Miami I'm my 73 Pontiac gran Prix in 1978.This song was on every radio station up and down 95.I hear this song, I think of the girl in Miami. Unbelievable!
I lost my best friend, soul mate and High School love of my life to cancer after 8 years of marriage. When I was in the military she fit right in with the guys and was always by my side except for the longest 13 months of my life when I was deployed across the Big Pond. I wish I could look in her eyes one more time. 😇

Please take me back to the 70's. I was so happy growing up. I miss my lost friends and my first loves.
The 70s & 80s had the best adult contemporary music
Wish I could hear music like this again on the radio
Loving someone at 17 and still can't get over them after 48 years. First love is sometimes unbearable.
Jeezus Cheryl!! just thinking that myself...exact ages
I can totally relate. Mine was age 19. Will never, ever forget.
Same happened to me ❤️
Right?!I still remember mine who looked me up on Facebook 🙄😳
😩
Great song, this song reminds me of a trip I took from NY to Miami I'm my 73 Pontiac gran Prix in 1978.This song was on every radio station up and down 95.I hear this song, I think of the girl in Miami. Unbelievable!
Where is music like this today when you really had feelings and emotions for a woman ❤
I lost my best friend, soul mate and High School love of my life to cancer after 8 years of marriage. When I was in the military she fit right in with the guys and was always by my side except for the longest 13 months of my life when I was deployed across the Big Pond. I wish I could look in her eyes one more time. 😇
Sad to hear😞
Sorry for your loss
@@popschannel4874 Thank you P. C. that's very thoughtful of you. Merry Christmas.🎄🖖
