I ran into the same thing when I did my twin stick conversion in my 2004 Chevy Tracker. Instead of using these Trail-gear lousy design twin stick and boot. I bought the Front Range M12x1.75 thread twin stick RF1A Top shift and JB 8" x 4" twin stick boot instead in addition. Cost me $250 extra. But no cutting or any redesign in my Tracker need and install very straight forward.. It fitted almost perfect and clean. I did have to cut the twin stick lower so it won't block my parking brake handle and get a adapter for the trail-gear M12x1.25 Knobs. I just need to re-sell the lousy Trail-gear twin stick and their boot in ebay etc.

I really want to thank you for this video. I was going to buy that kit, it looks like a better design than the other options but obviously it is not. I think you're right, it was designed for something else and adapted for the sidekick. I guess I'll check out the zor.

The sticks themselves, and the boot, are indeed made for Toyotas, and were made soley by Trailgear. LowRange simply designed the adapter plate to fit it to the Sidekick transfercase, that's why nothing fits quite right. I do agree that there should've been more info on it. I wish I would've known you were looking for twins before you bought them, I had a prototype set of twins on my last rig, that were sick, and wouldn't have required any cutting. The guy I sold my rig to has them, and I don't believe he was going to use them.
As far as LR having lots of money...... well let's just say, a friend of mine is one of the the original owners. They were much, much smaller than they appeared to be online. They were not pulling in as much profit as one would think. Now that TG bought them out, they need to put some life back into it, and that's what the plan was....but since then, they also bought out AllPro, and Wheelers Offroad. Unfortunately, LR has not gotten the love that it was hopefully going to get from the buyout, in my opinion.

On most sites that sell that, the factory write up ad describes the clearancing the shifter / Tunnel

I bought Sky YJ spring swap front from them on January this year and they send me along with some bunch of metal pipe 4inch long and 2.5inch in diameter about x6 and some steel plate lesser cut off pieces. This will really add up the shipping charge coz i am from india it's international shipping which i pay more like 70% of the product price.

Dang! That sucks. I ordered the same kit from Low Range just before Christmas and just got it up here in Canada. Not excited about having to hack it up to make it work. ☹️

I'm a little surprised you didn't totally redo those levers so they wrapped back over the top of itself, moving the levers closer together and back

You thought correctly, The missing detent ball will most certainly allow the shift fork to pop out

You need to call Trail gear. Good guys. Always have taken care of my projects. I still think it's the wrong kit.

I didn’t feel like calling or waiting for parts to come. I take blame if it was wrong kit.

That's way to much crap to go through for something that's supposed to be built already.

hello friend, I have installed the same twin sticks but on the dashboard of the car they do not encode the 4wd nor the low icon. Is the same in your car?

I’m pretty sure the 4wd light comes on still.
