I loved how great Maks performance was on this dance. He's usually a very serious person so this change of character showed just how good he's as choreography and acting.
Maks overall was a completely different person he was usually such a hard ass this was the only season he was vulnerable and showed his soft side and it paid off greatly a partnership that beat Derek hough who had five wins had 2 in a row at the time and had a partner who had no legs that was inspiring and amazing that's how good Meryl and maks were
After having watched this again (oh, who am I kidding? I've never stopped watching heir dances!), yes, I have to agree with you who say it was underscored. It the video that shows the judges' commentts, Kerry Ann said they dance as if they were one body and that Meryl's steps were flawless and perfect. So how does that rate 9's? No wonder Meryl (the following week) said that she was disappointed with the scores based on the comments. And why would Maks think he can't do comedy? He did a terrific job of adapting a dance that he says he normally thinks of as sexy to a song from a family-oriented movie. Anyone who thinks he doesn't know how to choreograph wasn't paying attention during this dance, or for tha matter, during the entire season. The currentt season really pales by comparison.
Is there any style of dance this girl can't do and kill it I'm soo glad she won to this day she's my favorite female contestant it was clearly from week 1 that she was gonna be the winner
I thought they did a fantastic job for what they were given, but I wanna know whose idea it was to make a samba to this song? Maybe a jazz, jive, or quickstep, but by know means should this song have been paired to a latin dance. It's kinda ridiculous that the producers wanted them to do a samba to this song, but meryl and maks absolutely killed it so it was ok (just a little awkward due to the mismatch between the style and song)
Producers missed their chance to be Hercules and Megara.
