    Nice Video Jon! One tip for preventing paint bleed under masking is to dust a few coats of clear on on before the color. It will seal the edge but remain invisible and prevent color from bleeding under. As you mentioned Tamiya is really thin. It has a tendency to wick everywhere you do not want it. Make sure your clear is compatible if you use this technique!

      OOOO Bert! That's such a great Tip! Thank you very much for that. I pretty much only have the issue when using the Tamiya stuff. THANKS!

      @@thelightersideofrc That is a very good idea. That technique can be used on any paint job. I like it....

    You know, I used to think I was pretty slick for building a sig seniorita and a 4* 120 kit. This is next level beautiful...

    Good job, Jonathan! I think it is really cool how you're showing people what you're doing. I find it frustrating when watching videos and not having any idea how you did it!
    I'm like a sponge, I scoop up information whenever I can get it. Thanks for doing that.....

    Hey bud, you probably already know this and have a reason behind not using it but if I'm ever glueing anything clear I'll just use PVA glue as it dries clear and doesn't haze like CA does. You can also just use canopy glue but I'm pretty sure that's just relabeled PVA 😂. Awesome video as always mate

    Great build video as always👍
    I’m really liking your tip times as well.
    Very informative.
    That Align hole maker actually called a hole puncher reamer.
    They’re used in helis to make holes in the fibreglass bodies and especially in RC cars & trucks to make the body post holes.

    Well another beautiful build nice work
    , I’m now thus about to start my next step in the journey of rc , my first I.C. engine plane , boomerang 40 trainer she’s all ready , just waiting on the best day I can get , I’m sick of the simulator I’ve flown the foamies to death so on to the next step 😊

    On a smaller engine like a 140, would it be fine to share fuel and smoke with one of those large DW vents via a "y" connector?

    • @thelightersideofrc
      @thelightersideofrc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn’t share a vent. If you want or need to use a taxi tank at some point you loose that ability

      Hey John. I think this tight small stuff I got from Dreamworks a few years ago. I order lots at the time.

  • @rcfortheages
    @rcfortheages ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I notice you are using different servo wire. The power box premium Maxi has been very hard to get, so I guess even you needed to find something else. Can you share what wire you are using?

    • @thelightersideofrc
      @thelightersideofrc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good eye. Yea it is difficult to find. I still have a decent supply but it’s all allocated for builds. I saw this stuff at ThunderboltRC and ordered 100ft to give it a try. This will by first time using it but so far happy, impressed and easy to work with. Has some quirks but great stuff.

    Love this PRO-jet! As usual Jonathan you hit it out of the park! I have a question about your "tip time" could you ask Trusty how the gyro was attached to the small plate? Was it with shoe goop??😊
    Thanks brother!

    • @thelightersideofrc
      @thelightersideofrc  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you very much! Very happy with the final result! Beautiful bird! Trusty said that the Cortex was applied to the plate with the thin supplied double sided tape. No more than that is needed.😉

    100 feet of servo wire is pretty epic the Vid really not showing the size of the beast. Some great idea,s there I will be able to use in future Builds. Again good to see ya Assistant Waed doing his thing. Have a Habu SST am refurbishing at present a sand down and repaint in order about half way through the add spackle and sand and repeat stage at present. Also got a ex ICDF fan Hawk to refurbish as well might do EDF but if can find a cheap Turbine well.........Hey for $100 bucks for the Hawk can.t complain an the Habu wasn,t much more. One thing about the ELAN so much room. be well keep at it now :0}

    • @thelightersideofrc
      @thelightersideofrc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Nick. Yea it’s quite deceiving as the camera doesn’t really convey the size.
