An impressive kit. Annoyed tho of the eye guard is right in the middle where your forced to position the eye anywhere besides the middle. Would have preferred it’s visor more like the kampfer
Tamiya thin cement is wicking and also has a capillary function. Instead of doing all that for removing a seam line, sand the interior elbow joint to have a better forearm connection, then with everything assembled, draw some Tamiya extra thin on the arm seam. Let it dry, scrape off the seam line and sand it down. Even for a full paint job, that much part modification isn’t necessary. Dry fit and sand the parts to get tolerance, paint the elbow parts, prime and paint the forearm parts, assemble, then sand down the forearm seam, use the Tamiya cement, mask and repaint over the seam. Done. No weakening of the joint, drilling or clipping is needed for a paint job. Or hell, sand it down and scribe it for an actual panel line in the dry-fit stage. Seemed more like a product placement for USA Gstore tools. Which, by all means, everyone should get stuff through them. Good store.
I didn’t wanna have to mask. This didn’t take very long at all, and I don’t really care about the joint durability being slightly lessened because once my kits are painted I leave them in one pose 🤷♂️

@@ZakuAurelius does that apply for MG's too? Just using standard size as an example I understand that a more bulky and bigger design would probably use more bottles.

The Messer is designed by Anaheim Electronics, who also made the Marasai for the Titans, so it's consistent in that sense. More specifically they engineered it from the Geara Doga which Anaheim had did the manufacturing work on for the 2nd Neo-Zeon. In-narrative, they deliberately went with a very Zeonic look when the terrorist cell Mafty commissioned them to design a mobile suit for them. Basically yet another tick in the tally for Anaheim working both sides that would eventually lead to the Federation trying to dump them entirely for the in-house SNRI thinktank
@@dylanv9463 It's not entirely clear if Anaheim designed the Geara Doga for the Neo Zeon, but it's explicitly stated they were given the manufacturing contract for it, so they had the data to use for subsequent projects and Anaheim wasn't above misappropriating data given to them in confidence. IIRC Char gave them the basics for the psychoframe and Nu Gundam knowing they would leak it to Londo Bell and Amuro. Once the Federation began playing favorites with the SNRI, manufacturing work was the best Anaheim could get for a long while- the SNRI would be given all the lucrative R&D work while Anaheim would assemble the results or develop cheaper mass production models. Ex while the SNRI had the Formula Project, Anaheim was stuck with the scraps of creating the Heavygun, G-Cannon, Jamesgun and Javelin over those decades with large gaps of nothing in between as the Federation fell into a habit of overusing a generation for far too long. They were still mainlining Javelins by the time Zanscare invaded in the UC150's, and by then the Javelin was a 20 year old design and thus grossly underperforming against anything Zanscare made. In that example Anaheim would find business by sponsoring League Militaire much like how they did the AEUG back during the Gryps War- developing for them the Victory Gundams and the Gun-EZ/Gunblaster.
The UC had a mobile suit size creep going on up to Hathaway's Flash, which is what the Messer is from. Suits were getting bigger and bigger--compare the RX-78 to Zeta to ZZ to Nu Gundam for instance. The Gustav Karl, Messer, Xi, and Penelope were kinda the endpoint of that size creep before things snapped back the other way with the Formula series and into Victory Gundam.
TBH a lot of the bulky MS is really boring in model kit form....like Gustav, Virtue, Seravee, GP02 etc....they feel the same to me because they're too bulky and not much they can do in HG form. The only thing that impressed me is that torso articulation and that's about it.
The FAZZ will be a much higher price. Nu and Saz are both very good models and I do recommend both of them. I’d recommend the FAZZ if you don’t care much about articulation, it’ll mostly just stand there and look badass.
MG Fazz is big boi, its filled with accesories. RG nu and RG sazabi is one of the best rg i've ever seen. I'd recommend Rg nu + sazabi tbh. FAZZ ver ka is kinda pricey and you can get both of those with fazz's price
I'm confused by the lack of polycaps. When Bandai invented polycaps they were a solution to all the problems with falling pieces.
