No need to panic, you've answered your own question in this video. This year your focus has been on clothing which means your previous Christmas periods were more focused on other items. People will happily by used clothes for themselves but not so much for Christmas gifts. Retail is slower this December in high street stores too - even supermarkets have seen consumer spending change this Christmas. Adapt and grow... use your savings as security for weak weeks (suggested to have 6-12 months of living costs saved up to cover work/life/health issues that crop up). You're doing fine, no need to panic...
I've been selling on Ebay for nearly 25 years and it has never ever been so slow in the run up to Christmas 🙇 I really think it is the algorithm making my listings invisible 🤔
Or too expensive more you guys do it the prices have gone up hence charity shops too but yeah eBay doesn’t help as you can’t see listings even if you type the words the same just misses it off completely but hope it improves for you guys after Xmas etc
I get how you feel, George. I'm also a reseller. I have definitely noticed a decline in sales over the last week or so. The start of December was great, but around the same time as you, I had a decline in sales.
I personally hate using eBay now , you look at an item and then days later get email after email with offers etc , you rarely get anyone pay full price , eBay are always on the buyers side ,
I agree, I haven't ordered anything for about a week before xmas as I doubt if it will arrive (at all, in some cases) I wait until the new year now, once everything gets back to normal
Yeah it’s down to the free listings, many people now listing items and flooding eBay listings, eBay is now all over the place, good to see you being honestly George, I do also think unless it’s a real rare item many are just buying new with a warranty!!
It's due to GSPR for the most part. 11th Dec is when his sales dropped off and the change went live around then (13th), but you're probably right on that too.
It seems to me that the reason is because christmas falls on a Wednesday this year and ebay have been telling g people your items wkll arrive after Christmas since Monday last week! Noticed it especially as the website got more traffic following that.
Q4 has been poor i think. Vinted has been keeping me going. Anyway i got your lights off your link so your get a few pennies lol. Where did you get the table clamps for them lights.
Give it a couple days George, loads of people get money for Christmas and it's burning a hole in their pocket before they've even had time to digest their Yorkshire puddings. Round about the time I'll be sending the offers out haha
thats why i stay away from big bulky items the cost for packaging and time involved to pack for the same profit as 2 t-shirts, unless you are making 30 or 40 quid profit then maybe worth it but you also have to take in to consideration size and storage for large items where i can store 20 shirts in a medium box.
The whole of December this year has been really slow for me. Usually its manic upto Christmas. But this year i now have twice as much listed as normal as nothings been selling. It will all go. Always does in the end. But its very strange that December has been so bad.
Yes, it's been odd. I tend to think of Dec as like half a month, which fortunately for me it has and already passed my own target but sales just fell off the proverbial by the 15th. I had my best ever Oct and Nov so spent a good bit of capital on goods - it'll all sell but I was half expecting much of it to have sold for xmas, be around only 2/5 has sold approx. Like I say, it'll all sell but it's been odd that many of the items I have sold this month weren't exactly what you'd buy as xmas pressies.
Because listings are free for everyone now it’s bought in a hell of a lot more people which means more competition. You need to promote everything to stand out so really it’s not free to list. Bit misleading but at least you have control with promos with how much you want the fees to be.
It's not just second hand resellers. My online shop dies at this time of year. And, weirdly, during the summer school holidays. I've never understood why that time of year is bad. Christmas is self-explanatory. I just take the time off.
What cross listing software are you using and does it auto delist I.e if you sale an item on vinted will it automatically delist the same item you have on eBay - thanks
I'm pro vinted I look at vinted as monthly pay I moved away from Ebay it's not what it was in my opinion newer selling platforms are performing so much better have a good Christmas
Your lucky you've only had 1 no sales day !! but look how that slowed down OVERNIGHT and then stayed the same for days that is NOT natural surellyyyyyy
Q4 used to be best time of year and summer slow, but since energy prices have gone crazy I have noticed that Q4 is not what is used to be and I actually have better sales in summer which is mad but think its doen to people not worrying about their energy bill in summer.
Sales on ebay have been the worst we have known. I blame the board game, you have jinxed the entire resale community, I think you need to do a video where you make a sacrifice to the resale gods and burn the Jimmy game! Nice bit of content on film too. Have a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year. 🎉
So I signed up for Uber Eats driving and if I don’t hit the figure I need to for the month I use it as a top up. Hoping that most months I won’t need to use it. But it’s my safety net for bills/mortgage if I do 😊
Interestingly though, a lot of non business clothing sellers are getting very fed up with Vinted and trying EBay out, even if they hadn’t previously used EBay so maybe the balance will tip back to EBay again in 2025.
Hi George. Another great video. I notice that you pack everything neatly in plastic bags. Can I ask where you get these from please. Wishing you and your family a lovely Christmas and a profitable 2025.
All my day were bad under £50 except 13th £150 14th £350 15 £150 19th 150 weird everyone’s different , I did promote at 9% from 6% and it’s worked a little
Love the channel but my God, what a drama queen! You have one slow week in 8 years and it's the end of the world. Most people have bad weeks EVERY week and struggle every single day of their lives, even those with full time jobs. First world problems from the comfort of working from home! 🤦🤦
@@donnajones2468 I think this channel is one of the best reselling channels on TH-cam, been subscribed for years but I mean, seriously, one slow week causes such a panic? That says to me he is very bad with money management cause he's been making thousands per month for years, yet one slow week he has a meltdown? 🤔 Most people reselling would love those slow £30 days every day, that's almost a grand a month, yet he's saying £150+ days are average for him, wtf? Almost 5 grand per month is average? That's the top 5% where I am in Northern England, most people here are living and struggling every single day on minimum wage, now that's worthy of a meltdown 😳 😳🤔
@@brianjlx2010 You are coming across as bitter. This channel is about re-selling and it’s his worst week in 8 years! Of course that will be concerning! If you think eBay is so easy, why don’t you quit your low paid job and start yourself? 🤦🏻♂️ You are sitting in your home watching TH-cam complaing about other people! Now that is a first world Karen problem
It is quite funny, you tell the world how to do what you do and are then crying that sales are down partly due to massively increased competition out there. Talk about making a rod for your own back. Is the £50-£100 a month you make from youtube worth it?
A few ideas George… First of all with the postage going up so much could it be that people are ordering from websites and having them shipped to store to pick up instead? Because from what I have seen this seems to becoming more popular. Secondly, looking at what you are selling.. You are selling a lot more clothing and shoes than what you used to? Less gift items? In past history of selling brand-new items and secondhand clothing separately myself I found that brand-new, giftable items tend to sell when the clothing didn’t. And vice versa. So that might be something you could consider in future. I think the idea of buying secondhand gifts is so good, but maybe people are turning away from this? I hope I’m wrong, but from watching other unrelated blogs, the environment seems to be out of fashion now and cheap brand-new items seem to be popular (big hint - toy handbag charms) And lastly, there seems to be less spending money at the moment, which is no surprise. I’m not getting the prices as high as what I used to. Hope this is a temporary thing. I hope that helps, best wishes to you and your family X
I find it impossible to shop for products on eBay. As a buyer it’s getting almost impossible to search for items I want

Been Reselling since 2015, worst Christmas ever! 🙁
It has been slow slow ... very strange.
People don’t trust postage in the run up to Christmas.
That's my thoughts too backed up by some buyers asking me to delay shipment until after Christmas.
I agree, I haven't ordered anything for about a week before xmas as I doubt if it will arrive (at all, in some cases) I wait until the new year now, once everything gets back to normal

Merry Christmas George, I am shifting the kids clothes and old toys on eBay it’s been a slog all year. Love your content keep it up.
Worst month ever on Ebay for me
Hello mate. Where do you get your clear storage bags from? Could do with some myself!
Same for me! Across both Etsy and EBay platforms.
Lots of others feeling it George , I told jammy he'll be laughing after NY when everyone wants exercise gear ! It will pass - Happy Christmas 🎄 TY
Merry Christmas and happy new year to you and your family another year of great content thank you 🎉
Q4 has been poor i think. Vinted has been keeping me going. Anyway i got your lights off your link so your get a few pennies lol. Where did you get the table clamps for them lights.
i heard the extra money on vinted is due to vintage not charging VAT on the shipping label for pro sellers, so they give it back
What do u expect with cost of living and energy price hikes
Give it a couple days George, loads of people get money for Christmas and it's burning a hole in their pocket before they've even had time to digest their Yorkshire puddings. Round about the time I'll be sending the offers out haha

Do you think GPSR had an effect? 😅

No one gets paid daily, I’ve learnt to stop stressing about the daily and look at the month
@@aperture_priority thats my methodology. The days where ive sold nothing have often turned into bumper months overall. Crazy how it works
Currently I'm the same. But in the summer I need the cash flow for carboot kitty
i do.
I have a standing order to a different account each month for this so that when summer comes I’ve saved it
The 13th of December, that day we will all remember.
@geoffduke1763 what happened on the 13th?

Uk gdp contracted this month.
Thats why you are not selling.
Where will you source from without car boots and charity shops being so highly priced?
vinted, marketplace and charity shops
buyers premium, normal in the main auction industry, makes sense I have to say.
Sales on ebay have been the worst we have known.

My last 7 have been fairly strong, just over 1500, which as part time is about as good as is gets. Yesterday was poor though and nothing yet today
Fried Chicken gives you migraine
Zero sales everyday on ebay Ireland its totally useless
yep and everyone is in stores rushing around
The little extra that vinted give you is something to do with their tax as they are in a different country I believe

Don't forget to inform your car insurance so you're covered for deliveries, best of luck
@ yes I have delivery insurance ☺️ but i wouldn’t let it put you off it’s very easy to sort out
Hate the delay in Vinted payout and plus having to send an invoice and yeh anybody know what the extra pennies are from Vinted ?

I got alot of cameras I need to list but keep putting it off too 😂plus bought lots from fleek Black Friday which need to list 😂

can you compare it to last year did it dip? maybe people at xmas put their money to presents not pre owned clothes and sneakers etc for themselves ?
How on earth do you make that much a day?im lucky if i make £3 a week😅
