@@lapacesiaconvoi Wow. I did not know that. I always thought Joey was so beautiful; especially in her London Fog raincoats. She also would have been a great choice in this role.
When I read the entire book by Vladimir Nabokov long ago......after last page I got incredible urge to take a shower. But this is Literature by an absolute Pro
they cut the actual sex out of this version. adrian lynne must have thought it was an oversight. poor jeremy irons. he could fall in love with a garbage pail and i'd believe it. wasted talent. melanie g. too.
It's not about pedophilia. Pedophilia is an unnatural sexual desire for prepubescent children. Lolita was too old to qualify. Further, there was an early lost love in this man's youth where the girl died. He was trying to replace her. Further still, the story is just as much about the girl -- being precocious and actively trying to tease and gain his attentions.
The cool and optimistic sound of the early 60's when everything seemed possible.
RIP Sue...she was gorgeous

joey heatherton was going to play this role, but her father didn't want her to. it worked out though. sue lyon was perfect here.

I don't think this is the movie version of LolitaYa-ya.
Kubrick, Sue, James Mason...talento y belleza. Nada que ver con lo de ahora. Sorrow.

How could a movie about a pedophilie be so glamorized? The book was so horrifying

Because you're an illiterate.
I found the book interesting and the film a bit disturbing. One can not control nature.
the movie isn't glamorized. It downplays the controversy of the book.
