Both these guys are legendary! I enjoy seeing how RB thinks like a machinist, not a carpenter. Pay attention lads...
I've been in Lindens shop. Amazing collection of boards
Original lightning bolts
Just saw this interview , the HERBIE FLETCHER balsa board in Lahaina ,10'6'was actually a 10'8" , I know , cause I built the blank from the pick of my lightest balsa a nd chambered it and glasses it, every step, start. To finish, even made black glass on fin ,36 layers of 6 oz. Glass, foiled , every thing, buffed the board, Finito , and that was at MY ocean front home at 991 Front St. Lahai na, 1993, DICK and SHERRY stayed at my house for over a week , we did 6 balsa from my wood , 4 for me, 1 for HERBIE, and 1 for DICKS nephew Michael, and also at least a dozen foam boards ,mostly semis, I glassed start to finish on every one, layed up black fin panels , cut out, foiled all , and that was DICK and SHERRY went back to Kaui, so there's factual time line and series of events, it was a whirlwind of activity that week or so!! A great time, and SHERRY is so supportive in all aspects, if you've never had a giant sandwich and extras on side served by SHERRY for us hard working guys, everyday, well it was a treat having the BREWERS here , I'll love it forever... That's the skinny on Herbies light, light 10'8' balsa. Bye, Stu MacRobbie. In Lahai na signing off,
does domed deck also mean pinched rails?
