It’s crazy how chill your dog is around food lol. My boy is 175 and he goes nuts whenever there’s food. He’s been like that since he was a pup. He knows to stay until I give the signal to eat, but the whole time he’ll be drooling a river and wild eyes dialled in on the bowl 😂

@@justinjuniano6472 99 percent of large breed dog owners don't weigh their dogs, they just guess and almost everyone of them over estimates how much their dogs weigh because they seem to think that will make them cooler.

I feed Choppa kibble, raw and I mix table food. I still feed Choppa 3x daily. When he turns 18mo I will go to 2x

My Cane Corso, a now 5 month old puppy. we've had him for around 3 weeks after rehoming him. Very friendly and sociable guy, fine with other dogs extremely obedient and attentive, much more so than my American Akita (they get along very well). Basically, a little gentleman and I love the guy to bits, having quickly built a very strong bond with our family. he gets plenty of exercise and long walks. Im an experienced owner of GSD, Doberman, and American Akita.
one issue I have that I have not experienced with my other dogs. He randomly but very rarely has growled at me from a distance quite aggressively from across a room, does not seem playful or communicative like I've had in the past, and not snarling teeth showing, just a deep growling and a nasal pre bark exhale (most will know what i mean) but no bark. But he looks directly at me and does it. He's also done this to my wife, I cannot understand why he does this. He is otherwise completely submissive and affectionate to everyone, no resource guarding or aggression otherwise whatsoever.
I'm just now concerned by this, we have two young children in the house. If these are early warning signs or otherwise common behaviour for this breed, I need to know, but still highly doubt it this would be a breed commonality. any experienced owners feedback very welcome.

I’m a woman and want one for hiking and protection as soon as I get a home. Such a beautiful dog. I’m disciplined enough for one I think.

I just rescued a Cane Corso named Boss, I absolutely love him he’s been amazing! Is there any tips with training and learning to live with a big dog? Any toys you recommend! Any health tips or anything you can share from your personal experience? I have read so much on them but I want to be able to give my boy the best life possible!
Congrats on your Corso and good job on Rescuing him! I have some videos on the channel talking about my experience and I will be making many more with tips as well. I they are sometime prone to hip and joint issues due to their size, so keep that in mind. For toys you want to lean toward the most durable stuff you can find, and he probably will still tear it up, lol. Rope for tugs are good as well. It's best just continue to work obedience training with him and scale it up, introduce distractions and make sure to continue to socialize him. There are a lot of solid TH-cam channels that have solid info as well. I wish you and your Corso the best. Feel free to share his progress! I hope this helps!
Yea the shorter thicker corsos are the older style from Italy. The newer corsos bred here in the states are usually taller on average and a bit slimmer.
Yes. I agree. I’ve noticed that as well.
I gotta speak up for this breed cuz it’s going further in the wrong direction since 70’s. The breed standard is 100-115lbs which is the Italian import known as Traditional Corso. Hence, 140-180 “Corso” are the mixture of dogs known as non traditional. They more like house dogs similar to Bully XL laid back and less drive. Totally different dog. Just much bigger.
I’ve just got my first Cane Corso, currently feeding him 1/2 wet & 1/2 dry but his stools are loose.
After watching this video I’m thinking I should remove the wet food and just stick with kibble

How many cups of food did you give him as a puppy? Has it always been 2? I just got a 7 week old cane corso and I’m curious how much I should give him. But i’m definitely going to try your food preference.
I fed him based on the recommendations on the back of the bag. As a pup it was 3 feedings a day. I can’t remember the amount of cups, but it’s on the bag.
Have u compared the formula in your dogs food to the Costco brand salmon dog food?
No, I haven’t done that.
Where did you find your stand for Duke's bowl
Amazon. Those big bowls I use don’t fit in there, had to rig it, but it get the job done. Ther bowls it come with fit perfect. They are just smaller than the ones I have in the video. Here is the link: amzn.to/3SRA75p

Do you fortify his kibble with veggies or meat? I do coconut oil…raw organic eggs, sweet potatoes…etc…I’ve researched the top kibble brands and most are grain free which is deadly for dogs, taurine is essential for cardiovascular health…just some 411 for ya 🤷🏻♀️

Well done on the training.....very impressive. I have a 8 month old....we are working to gr to that level some day. He's 80lbs, still a little puppy stubborn. Hopefully have it all worked out before the grown up stubborn starts lol
Do you have problems with people avoiding you and you corso when out in public? I find people cross the street or won't let their kids come pet him. My boy is friendly and loves kids....and so far it's just chihuahuas he is afraid of. I'm to the point where I wanna say come pet my dam dog so he gets some attention...he likes people and wants to meet them, I'd like to keep it like that.
I had it happen a bit with my bullmastiff yrs back, but this is extreme sometimes...I swear it hurts my boys feelings when people just pass by him.

Yes, some times. Just have to watch them and be mindful of what they are chewing on and playing with.

I have a question. Im interested in cano carso. Do you know how much they are? And how long does it take to train a cano carso?
Price depends on the the breeder you get your pup from. They catch on pretty quick to training. You should continue to train little bit daily, if you can. Scale it up and gradually introduce more distractions.
The mountains of shit that you have to clean up everyday must require a hazmat suite.

Yes. I feed him twice a day. Now, I get him about 2.5-3 cups.

I got Duke from a close Family member. His dogs had a 1 time litter back in 2020.

He only eats inside now. He was going through a phase at that time where he was making a mess. We got it figured out now though. I’ll probably make an update version of this video soon.

Never tried victor’s, but I’ve heard good things about it.
I feed my 1 yr cane corse Apollo Victor purple bag its a excellent brand I usually order the 50lb bag that and salmon oil.. or sometimes I’ll do a raw feeding and add a egg as well same thing 2 times a day.. I’m thinking about starting a channel with mines
My Cane Corso is only 4 mos. I just got him 2 wks ago. I know he's gonna be big. He now understands sit and come here (where I point)...in Spanish. My choice. I'm trying to understand why people feed their dogs just raw meat n eggs. My Kyler gets plain old gravy train but I mix it by batch with corn, green beans, oats,brown rice and cooked beef. I'm arthritic and overweight so I totally understand that he needs something for his joints. But I can't afford the bucket n oils that y'all bought. What can I do? Canned tuna in the mix????
You can get some recommendations from researching benefits of that and bounce it off your vet to get their advice.
I recently started using the salmon oil with our french mastiff. Night and day difference. She's just excited all the time.

No question! I don’t understand the “dog food in a bag” decision. Raised 11 dogs on raw over 20 years. Vets disagree, but no unwanted med bills.

You should also feed him raw meat 🍖 🐔 🐥 🍗 🐟 🐠 🥚 🐣 .....A mix of kibbles with raw meat.....There is a reason dogs have K9 teeth and is definitely NOT to eat kibble processed food‼️ Just like Wild Dogs in Africa, Dingos in Australia, Wolves in Siberia, etc....Mother Nature created these K9's to hunt and prey for food with the tools they are created with....Most importantly with their K9 teeth‼️
