Nice to see the panel differences explained , I was looking for a new 1/4 for mine with no luck but was tempted to buy a base shell to get the panel off but got mine repaired in the end.
There are a few on ebay at the moment that are real gti quarters www.ebay.co.uk/itm/403946603800?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=KVpqeOEhTcS&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=gUbdZbFASn6&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY And there are new bottom half rear quarters www.ebay.co.uk/itm/234458622626?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=izk5ndw-rlu&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=gUbdZbFASn6&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Would it work if you cut a Vee down. ie top of the V where the repair panel extends past original arch? cut the V out then bend the Vee closed and weld the V shut, putting the repair panels ''lip'' in the correct place? That would save trying to reform the lip.. Hard to explain, but maybe you get what I mean?
Nice!! If you grind a drill bit flat on the tip you can use it to clean the metal in the spot weld holes. Then you can prime the whole panel and get primer between the lap weld joints. If that makes any sense.
Oh wow, Peugeot really took the go faster strip stuff serious and moulded the GTI shells with extra room for them 😛
Wow ..lee you have done a cracking job on the gti so far pal 😀 doin some grate work & showing it some tlc 😎
