Organizer here, thanks for playing, it means the world to us. A few notes on some of the issues you brought up: Next tournament (yes there will be more) will be score based elimination until much much later. Given this is the first event of this scale ever, there were bound to be bumps in the road. We totally agree that a bracket system especially for this type of game is WAY too RNG. We're sorry you got the short end of the stick (I personally had you going to t4 in my personal bracket) and hope you understand this is a learning process for everyone. I just want to reiterate that we really enjoyed watching this content as Organizers and are ecstatic at the response the viewers outside the tournament have given. Until then, keep popping bloons and hopefully see you next time when we have an even bigger and better tournament sometime next year!
I'm assuming this is what y'all have in mind but I think Trackmania's Cup of the Day kinda has the whole tournament format figured out decently well, although of course with needed tweaks for the scale of these brackets. Also, any thoughts on co-op challenges being used?
I feel like the best solution to buff the monkeyopolis is this: Each additional farm sacrificed to the village gives more income compared to the last The village would its serve its intended purpose for being useful late game, but not overpowered for early game
The better way could be the amount of levels, perhaps? Perhaps something along the lines of (1000 + 100 x levels) x buildings? Or something similar, at least?
Hey Isab, I’d honestly love to watch you play the challenge even though you’re out of the tourney and compare scores with the people still in the running. This is some super interesting content. Prob my favorite series that I’ve seen on your main channel in a while. Love seeing the challenges and the cool strats. It’s all basically an optimization game, and most other content is “pass or fail”, or has some element of meme/joke. This is “do your best, compete with the best, may the best player win.” Such a breath if fresh air.
Ggs ISAB. You had a good run. I'm honestly surprised I outlasted you in this tournament. I'm out now, got eliminated in Round Six, but I'll still be covering everything that happens. Here's to the rest of the tournament.
@@aero4810 Having the unluckiest seeds of the tournament is not equal to the "unluckiest streak of opponents ever". Also, I am pretty sure that's not true, but I can't be bothered to check, the thing is not that important to me^^

Looks like Ninja Kiwi fixed the Flower Spike Pile so it actually applies to the preemptive spike pile. However, it only seemed to apply after you continued from a save.
Yeah I was thinking the same about the "1v1" style brackets. It doesn't really make sense in this style of game-definitely should've been a "top x% advance" style tournament. Anyway, congrats on getting unlucky.
literally just started playing trackmania today because it recently came out on console. their tournament style is pretty enjoyable, i think something similar would be a good idea
I loved seeing you take on these fun challenges Unfortunate opponents but it'll be fun to see what else the tournament organizers created for future rounds
you should definitely keep this tournament up and try your skills against the other players. Also that idea you had at the end about the top X players advance seems so much better then 1v1 and its kinda RNG based on who you get. This and the letters series are my top 2 favorite series you have i hope they host another tourney cause these are so entertaining.
It would have made more sense to break ties by accounting for fractional paragon degree, but I can see that that might have been annoying. Since in game it only shows the degree rounded down, so for every tie the organizers would have to count the money spent, pops, and upgrades on every wizard, plus the number of paragon totems Still, this is a good challenge, gg isab
Yeah I’m sorry for your loss, I know how tournaments can be rng as I was in one today and got bad seeding, thanks for playing against me, it was a fun time trying to find some funny strat
Hope they do this again! It's really interesting. Although, I do think you're right about the 1V1 thing not being a great way to determine the outcome. Oh well.
It's definitely most efficient to triple discount the monkeyopolis and 0-0-0 sacrificed farm and selling the other discount farms even without favored trades.
because of that monkeyopolis buff i was able to get all tier 5 beast handlers with max power along with a bunch of farms. I'm gonna be very sad when they nerf it next patch :(
Some unfortunate luck for those rounds, however great video to watch and I would love to see you participate in the other challenges if possible. Even if it’s not part of the tournament anymore.
Im not the greatest at the game and I've set a personal challenge to see how far I can get in Half cash. Prior to the monkeyopolis buff I wasnt able to get very far. But after the buff I finally managed to get to a vengeful in half cash.
I still think the fact that you got into losers bracket because a bunch of people used a bug that literally trivialized the round is bs. I have faith that you wouldve gone pretty far in the winners bracket. Either way, good video. W Isab.
@@mothrahlurker788 Just because something requires a lot of setup, does not mean it does not trivialise the round. Just imagine you are playing an RPG game and every enemy has a lot more HP than you and a lot more DMG than you. You are hardcore struggling to even beat a few normal mobs, not to mention the bosses, who are much stronger that normal enemies. However, you know that there exists a bug/exploit that allows you to basically go god-mode. You watch videos about it, to learn how to do it and then you spend a couple hours trying it, and after about 5 hours, you finally did it. It took a long time, but now, instead of having to attack enemies 20 times to kill them, you kill them in one hit. Instead of dying in 2 hits, you can no longer die. The bosses aren't an issue anymore either. You have pretty much won the game already, simply thanks to performing this bug/exploit. Do you get what I'm trying to say? Yes, the supposed exploit took a couple hours to do and hell, maybe the players who all tied for 1st place spent more, but that does not matter. What matters is that once the bug/exploit was done, the round was just over. There was no longer any fun in trying to do your best, in struggling, in beating your opponent. Just an empty, pointless round. If you can just oneshot every enemy in the game and also not die, what even is the point in playing a game like that? That's my take on it.
Actually those stats show that their is almost no correlation between the rank and the average placement, the rank only explains about a third of of the overall placement. You still got rather unlucky but that is what that graphe is showing advancing is largely going to be luck based. This would be also the case if the top n player went on to the next round. If they wanted to demonstrate who has the best overall score they would want to use a point based system like what is used in formula 1 but they are generally less exciting.
Man that’s understandable. They should’ve been looking at highest overalls instead of who just wins a single round. Can literally just boot the single best player in the game out in the first two games?
