I was diagnosed with ibm after three years of tests before being given the diagnosis it is now ten years of that diagnosis the course has been remorseful at the onset I was falling daily so I began using crutches to help me walk around the quadriceps have now gone and the muscles on my arms are now unable to be of much use I cannot write or hold cutlery so it is obvious that this thief of life is on going I have to cope with other conditions insulin dependent diabetes no thyroid and a pace maker fitted over forty years ago my age is 87 years old I discipline my out look to handle todays problems and not entertain tomorrow at the onset of ibm a Canadian doctor friend had cured a 54 year old lady in New Zealand with the use of the keto diet he published a paper on this approach in curing ibm though my consultants treated this as a form of witchcraft and did not treat it as reasonable I am now relegated to a power chair I hope that this contribution is found to be interesting
I am 62 yo, and was just diagnosed with IBM. I am an Air Force veteran. Basic training was indeed at Lackland AFB in 1981. I then went to Sheppard AFB for electronics training. Both bases in Texas. I recall the immunization lines where we received our shots. I do wonder about those injection guns they used and how sanitary they were. I also worked as a medical equipment technician at the AF Academy in Colorado Springs. I worked on those shot guns there so I assume that cadets were receiving the same shots as I did as an enlisted airman. It would be interesting to know if AF Academy attendees are included in this interesting accumulation of AF IBMers. If there were a jet fuel relationship, would we know anything about the general services personnel that worked on these Air Force bases and their incidences of IBM?
