    Great video as always!
The more I learn and experiment with rakers and cutter tooth angles, the more I realize how much more there is to learn. I’m currently working on longer longevity and low pull, at the cost of speed. I want to see if I can increase cutter endurance even more and still maintain low pull and chips.
West Coast Saw has the best depth gauges I’ve seen, super easy to use and accurate with several different settings.
I’ll experiment for quite a while before I have good numbers. The next challenge is to make it easily repeatable, which is where great chain ‘tunes’ often die. No point in great angles and raker height if they are too complicated and difficult for the field. Hence the simplistic beauty of box chain, but not nearly as exciting as adjusting several tiny pieces of metal by a degree or two and a shaving a few thousands.

Really shows the difference a few thousandths can make.

Yes, and the many variables. Change the chisel angle it changes approach to the wood. Change the depth gauge it changes the angle of the chisel angle. File size, which two or three sizes can be used. The height of them however, effects the chisel and depth gauge aggressiveness. Then change wood fiber density and you have a very complex
      Cutting machine.

What do you think of the Hexa chain?

I have several videos on it. I was part of the market study. It’s faster and easier to sharpen than round ground chisel. It’s not as fast as square ground in most wood.
Once volume is up and price is down a bit, it’s one of the greatest new additions to
Saw chain in many years. Go to @ForestApps and Search HEXA
