Technically no, you can just clear the code but that's only if you know 100% the sensor is genuine and is working properly. As long as the trucks computer is not getting any errors from the new sensor, you should be good. I highly suggest you do. I did do a regen but that was because it was an aftermarket sensor and I was already home. If the sensor was bad, I could've easily gotten an OEM part locally.
