    0:23-0:32:-
    -In the earlier video,
it has already been emphasised that teaching the Dental subjects alone is not sufficient, the buisness side of Dentistry is also equally important and needs to be taught.
(Link of the previous video ->Vlog 28: Creating Better dentists)
    [ th-cam.com/video/9u5HTZEejrA/w-d-xo.html ]
-Not everyone can go for Academics/teaching.
Naturally, there are not many people can or are able to do it,
also not many people would be willing to do it.
    0:34-0:37:-
•Starting up your own Dental practice: How, when and where?
    Things to kept in mind:-
    0:40- 2:03:-
    1) CLINIC EUPHORIA:
    - You shouldn't get into a state of euphoria else you may end up spending too much to set up your clinic.
    - Don't get carried away easily.
-Spending lavishly to set up your clinic has disadvantages:
•If someday you are asked about an average budget for setting up a dental clinic, your response will surely discourage the other person, making him think that he can't actually afford to start his own Dental practice.
•Initially, you won't have a good patient flow at clinic, still you will have to pay the rent and pay your employees.
So, carefully analyse where and how you are spending your money.
    - When, why and what exactly you need to purchase
    - Clinic also a buisness, so it requires to get in running/working condition.
You can get your clinic decor done, after your clinic gets in running/working condition.
-Clinic should be well-equipped, clean and organized, which is actually more important than Clinic decor.
    - Most of us want to start practicing at our own clinic ,so eagerly we wish to this without delaying, and we start planning for this it soon after graduation.
    2:04-3:59:-
2)The moment you are all set for a private practice, please take a step back to ask yourself a few important questions,
before starting your own Dental practice:
Q1) DO I KNOW HOW TO TAKE B.P?
    Q2)DO I KNOW HOW TO TAKE X-RAY?
    Q3) CAN I DIAGNOSE,
PLAN, AND EXECUTE EASY CASES BY MYSELF?
Q4) CAN I HANDLE COMMON MEDICAL EMERGENCIES?
Q5) DO I KNOW HOW TO MANAGE A "JAW LOCK"?
Q6) DO I KNOW HOW TO
    Do "COSTING"?
-If you are unable to find answers to some of these questions, then it clearly means that you need to improve upon your Basics.
-You need to improve your skills, do not take any risk when it comes to patient's life.
-Consider joining someone else's private practice for atleast one year, minimum.
So that you can gain plenty of exposure, experience and confidence, until you learn how to handle different problems that you might encounter even during your own practice.
-In order to practice Safe and Quality Dentistry you must join someone else's private practice for 1-2 years or for 1 year atleast prior to opening your own practice.
-This helps you to become a well-rounded and confident dentist, who provides high quality and safe treatment to the patients.
Now, this has some advantages :
    • The patient flow in your clinic would be low during initial period of time, say initially for 1-2 years approx . Despite this you need to pay the staff of your clinic and other expenses also. So, instead of opening your own practice , you should work at someone else's private practice.
This way your expense reduces to zero, profit is gained because you only have to visit someone's clinic, when you are called see the patient.
•This will save the Operating costs of Clinics which include overhead expenses such as salaries of staff, rent, equipment and supplies, etc.
    - When your patient flow develops significantly, then you can start your own practice.
    4:00 -11:18:
    3) What are the important things required for opening your own practice:
•Location: Try to select a location which is around a public or commercial place, and also near the residential areas.
-Some areas might have congested roads, causing problems regarding parking space.
Also in some areas there might be large parking space, but if the area is sparsely populated then not many people would walk-in.
-The Clinic should be spacious enough to accommodate : Compressor room, Sterilisation room, Waiting room, Washrooms, and most importantly; surgery room.
•Clinic Board : should be simple and easy to read with minimum essential information mentioned on the clinic board.
    •Basic Equipments required:
    # Where to buy from?
Only buy from manufacturing companies which are well established in the market
since years, so that in case of any defect or any other problem, you can get it replaced or repaired.
    # B-class Autoclave:($1050)(Chinese/Korean)
    (Range: 1-2 lac Rupees approx)
    # X-Ray Machine (Wall-mounted or Portable)
    ($1100- 1500)
    (Range: 175k-250k Rupees approx)
    # Digital Imaging:
    (X-Ray Machine and Sensor)
    -Wired Sensor: ($2000-2500)
    (Range: 300k-350k Rupees approx)
    -Wireless sensor:
    ($4000-4500)
    (Range: 6-7 lac Rupees approx)
    # Dental Chairs
    (Range: 1-35 lac Rupees approx)
    •Basic Chair
    ($1000-1500)
(Range: 1.5- 2 lac Rupees approx)
    •Decent Chair:
    ($2000-3000)
    (Range: 4-5 lac Rupees approx)
    • Very Good Chair:
    ($6000& above)
    (10 lac Rupees onwards)
    # Suction Machine:
    • Normal :
    (Range:40k-50k
    Rupees approx)
    •High-speed Motorized Suction Machine:
    (Range:1-1.5 lac Rupees approx)
    # Which Instruments to buy?
    -buy basic and Anti-rust instruments.
    •Diagnostic set
    (Range: 250- 2500 rupees )
    •Consumables:
    Disposable and Materials:-
    - convenient to use and less costly when purchased in bulk from manufacturing companies.
    # dental filling material: Composite Restorative material.
    •Expensive material:
(manufacturing companies like 3M * and Dentsply *): recommended.
    •Lesser expensive materials: recommended.
    •Copies: not recommended.
•It should always be kept in mind that the cost of treatment depends primarily upon the cost of material being used for restoration.
    # Emergency drugs: place non- expired , fully stacked Emergency drugs in a closet for emergency use.
    # Competent Assistant:
-You need to hire an Assistant who is well-trained, experienced, has good communication skills as well as good administrative skills,
and knows how to handle medical emergencies, so that he is able to assist you, in case any such situation arises.
-Assistant helps in management of your Clinic, patient record keeping and informs you about the things present and needed in the inventory.
A good assistant helps to you provide a good experience of treatment to the patients.
    # Hire Specialists:
-when you hire a specialist you only have when they come to see their patients.
    # Bonus tip:
Every year some local and international conferences are organised wherein trade exhibitions are held, which is attended by many private dental practioners and they purchase instruments and equipments at relatively lower prices. For instance, AEEDC ,Dubai .
And many such Dental Conferences are held worldwide wherein you can purchase good quality Equipments and Instruments at relatively lower prices.
This benefits you and your patients as well, because this significantly reduces the cost of treatment.
    # Don't lose heart: It takes time to develop patient flow.
Vlog 34: Starting your own Dental Practice.☝️
    Hope this helps :)

Alhamdulillah, I have recently opened my clinic about 15months before, and have gone through the same process as you have mentioned in this video for almost 4 years, associated with some great dentists in khi and its worth it truly, and now I can do most of the Dental procedures on my own and hires specialists too so that I can provide the best possible treatment for my patients 😊 I would like to add one more thing specifically to all the seniors dentists kindly pay good enough money to your junior colleague/students/associate dentists who do work in your clinic or give % for the work they do.
On the other hand to all the fresh graduates, patience is the key to success, thora sabr aur naik niyyati se kaam kro acha krlogay app log bhi.
    Thank you 👍

Sir what, according to you, what should be the minimum square footage of real estate that one should get in order to set up a decent clinic? Not planning to build up the entire infrastructure at once, but I wouldn't also want to move to a different location when my clinic builds up at that location three years later just because I wanted a larger patient waiting area, or, perhaps, install another chair... I know these are relative... I just want your perspective... 😅

Although opening a dental clinic is not in my plans, I have watched your video in its entirety. You speak so well and also you describe things very effectively.
This mic along with its pop filter is way too big. It hides your body and is visually jarring for the viewers. You may please consider using one of the very commonly available very small mics that can be tucked away on one's shirt.
