Love the description of opposed forces duking it out and needing to chill out a bit. I grew up singing and so had developed vibrato already when I joined my first school choir. The teacher thought vibrato was detrimental to blending voices and asked me to flatten it. Attempts to do that caused a lot of stress in my voice! It was not only exhausting but it started to hurt! Fortunately I was able to move into the advanced choir after one term which had a more well trained teacher. Also, gospel jaw- 😂
Art Garfunkel is my favorite Vibrato skill.. his obvious skill prior to the '81 Concert in Central Park is fantastic but that Live Concert is my favorite vocal performance by any musician.
Thank you very much for the information! I heard tons of things of Vibrato! I don't think I have it! It is used in Fado a lot! There's natural vibrato and there's improvised vibrato!

Im 12 and i want to become a famous contralto singer. I have a low range, but it isn't a very large range. Will my voice get used turn into contralto or will it be more higher
Hi im am struggling to find out what vocal classification i fit into either a baaa or baritone in my school choir i sing that base role but i dont have the ability to produce the sound the other bases do on a good day i can reach a c2 and other days i cam sing up with the tenors up to a4 could you please help me in figuring this out? Thanks kevin
Can you learn to use “natural vibrato” or Is it genetic? I feel like a lot of people who don’t how to sing but when they try to think they shake their head or jaw like in the video which is what I hear to be a sort of “cheating” vibrato
