How could anyone give this a thumbs down? Even if your not a Mustang fan. You have to admit she loves her car and has not only a half million miles. But a million plus memories and smiles!

I bought a 1968 Lemans from the original owner 3 years ago, and he quizzed me when I asked about the car. He absolutely wanted the car left stock and the way it was. I told him I was born in 1968 and I want that car and I will keep it AS IS and will keep it preserved as is for future generations. I am the new caregiver of the car. My son, also a car guy, will be the next caregiver. I would be the next caregiver of that Mustang if she wants me to be. I have an extra garage stall in a "tuck under" garage and I always have a dehumidifier keeping the humidity at 50% to preserve the car. If interested, let me know, thanks.

Bless this woman! This is how these cars should be treated! They’re not mine or yours and we only get so many. They’re for the guy or gal that come after you to give it the same love and respect. I’m moving to Hawaii in two years and I’ll be buying a nice red coupe with a 4 speed and I’m keeping it until I die.

    WILL IT TO THE MUSEUM!!!

  •  5 ปีที่แล้ว

Why does her 65 Mustang have a 66 Mustang dash? Here's a suggestion. Contact Jay Leno. If he's interested and I can't see why not. You'd be assured it's going to a good home and would be taken well care of. If the dash is original you have a rarity. Bought in May of 65 means it was made in April 65 the end of the model year. Someone installed a 66 dash for some reason at the factory. The only real differences between a 65 and 66 Mustang were the grill emblem and dash.

    Hello Lynn,
My first car was a 66 coupe with the 6 cylinder...I loved that car, but it was wrecked and not worth much then. As much as I would LOVE to have your car, the safest bet would be to will it to Jay Leno...He has what I would assume is the best collection of all original cars in the world and he restores, maintains, and cares for them all. He vowed never to sell and I would assume also, that his collection will be a museum when he passes. He has no heirs.
If I were to obtain your guy, I would keep him original and drive it often. I swore an oath to myself if I were lucky enough to have another classic Mustang I would keep it always and care for it as I do any car I own. Best wishes in your journey and I pray that you are able to eventually make a decision for your cars' heir that eases your concerns for his well being and continued life! What a Lovely story, it touched my heart.

    •  5 ปีที่แล้ว

Not my first but second car was the same thing. A black 66 coupe, 200ci 6 cylinder, 3 speed I bought from my uncle for $100 in 1976. All original except the front seats. High back buckets. Those came out of a 1971 Mach 1. Not the BEST car I ever owned. surprisingly that honor goes to a 1981 Mazda GLC. Bought with 120,000 on her and daily drove for 2 years 100 miles a day. Except for standard maintenance the only thing needed was to blast the hell out of the carb inside and out with spray carb cleaner every 10,000 miles when she began to run rough. She went to 200,000 then the clutch and wheel bearings went. Payed $500 and got 80,000 miles. That's a win in my book.

I haven't even watched the whole thing. But my Dad's 62 vette is the same situation. It's never for sale. But it should go to a good home. When I am done, I will leave it to a charity auction. For like an animal shelter or something. I'll be dead, it won't matter to me! Let all the people that ask you if you want to sell it fight each other for it, and the animals in the shelter get the rewards. Just my 2 cents.

    • @robb5522

Or give it to me. Those cars don't even float my boat. I get them, but I'd never look for one. I'll keep it next to dad's vette then when the time comes it's well over $100k for charity, hopefully not for a while though haha.

Great story of a lady who TRUELY loves her Mustang! The first car I can ever remember riding around in was in 1976 when I was 4 & it was a 1967 Mustang convertible with a 289. It was blue with a white top & blue interior. She sold it in 1979 because of the 2nd oil embargo. It was a great car & I miss it to this day. It's sad no one in her family loves it as much as she does.

She is right to make sure her car goes to the right type of owner. Someone like herself. Our Family had a 1932 Chevy Coupe, which had been bought for my mother, but she never drove it/ By 1965 it had still only done 7000 miles. Over the years many pewople tried to buy until it got to the point where Dad started getting annoyed with them. A dealer came saud that he would cherish it etc and he only wanted it for himself and so on. He had already lined up a buyer for it.
So it got sold and it's been through the hands of several owners, still with only `14,000 miles but has been altered with the wrong color wheels etc etc . The point of this is, If her Family shows no interest apart from how many dollars they think they will get for it,she will be happier knowing it will go to a entity that will choose to look after it.

i have had my grandmother's '68 Mustang coupe since '92 ( after owning it for 22 years, she willed it to me.). She lived in Nevada, and the car retains its original paint and other cosmetics. I have rebuilt the suspension, replaced the non original 289 with a rebuilt I did myself, etc. etc. It looks like your average non performance Mustang you would have seen driving around in the '70's. My two problems are: too many cars, and two kids who aren't into it. I feel this lady's pain.

As someone fairly young, a Ford lover all my life and a 64-69 Mustang lover especially but any mustang really.. I would take the motor to a machine shop to re-do and go through everything, re-work the heads port polish all that good shit, throw a nice little healthy cam in it and leave everything else just the way it is and drive it around just like she does I would love this as a daily driver! Would definitely never sell this is priceless history!

4:03, Wow, that's sad. I would love to be a caretaker for such a car as this. And yes, I would love to take it to Car shows and explain its history to anyone who would listen. My 1st car (1977) was a 65 Mustang Convertable with a black Pony Interior. It was a 4 speed and it didn't have an engine and I don't think it was the original color. I put a 302 in it and drove it for 6 or 7 years. Back then I was too young and the color didn't mean much to me. After all, it was my first car and I hadn't fallen in Love with Mustangs until I had this one for a short time and then I was hooked. The floor was rusted and the car was sagging and back then there were not many repair panels and I decided to sell the car for parts. My next car was a 69 Mach 1 with a 351 with a 4 speed transmission. It was Acapulco Blue with a white interior. The interior was in tough shape and yes, no door panels to be found. I converted it into a black interior before I traded it in for an 83 Mustang GT. That was a big mistake, but not too long after selling it, I found a 67 Shelby GT-350 4 speed car that was hit on the passenger rear quarter just behind the door. By this time, I had learned to mig weld and I repaired the crash damage and I had the body and paint done. I drove it for a while and sold it for 15 grand. That was in the early 90's before the price really started to climb out of sight. Oh well, another mistake. Fast forward to today, 1960's Mustangs are expensive and cost quite a bit to restore and I doubt I'll ever be able to have another one.

Hello, If you are looking to will your mustang to any person, you would be rest assured that I would take really good care of that car. I had a 1968 mustang. It was black with black bucket seats and a center console. I was only about 16 years old when I got it. I'm 49 now. I was working for a janitorial service owned by a husband and wife. To make a long story short they let be borrow the $600 to buy it and agreed to take $50 a week from my check to pay them back. I loved that car so much. I fixed everything that needed fixing. Then I decided to detail the engine with a chrome kit. It had chrome valve covers, Air Cleaner, Thermostat cover, Alternator cover and boy did it look nice. I wanted to go one step further and make the 302 a little better. I bought a high performance Cam with double Roller Timing Chain. Then I picked up a little better exhaust starting from the new headers on back. Well, after all the work and money I put into it I wanted to see if I improved on the start to stop acceleration. Well let me tell you. Not only was the engine more powerful but When I stepped on it that day, Something happened. Not good either. It had so much more horse power that the frame rails broke. Well I ended up getting all new frame rails and was trying to save up to get someone to replace them which is quite the undertaking of a job. The person I bought the mustang from herd through the grapevine what had happened and showed up at my house one day and offered the K10 Chevy Blazer he had pulled up in. This blazer was beautiful. Nothing wrong with it. It had a perfect light blue and white paint job. It had a slight lift kit with over size tires and so on. Back to the mustang That I bought in the mid 80's. Well about 25 years later, Im driving down the road not far from my house and there it is. When I tell you it was exactly like the last day I saw it well thats because when I traded for the blazer, they sold the mustang to somebody half way across the state and they had just changed the frame rails about 2 years prior to me seeing it again after 25 years. I'm telling you, I had so many great memories with that car. I stopped and looked it over. It still had the seat covers I bought on the seats. I started to cry thinking back and reflecting back on when I was a teenager. Well come to find out, The brothers I originally got the car from own it again. I spoke with them and told a couple of stories about back then and asked if they were planning on selling it again and the answer I received was yes. They told me $5000. I told them that I wanted that car and had to sell one of my project cars to come up with the money. Well after I had sold the car I went back with the $5000 they were asking and they told me they had already sold it. I was devastated and could not even speak so I just turned around and left. So that is the reason I am writing you on who you can will the car to. I would so much love to own a 60's mustang again. I always said to myself that I would get another one someday. Well After becoming disabled from working do dam hard as a heavy equipment mechanic I have had 4 back surgeries and I don't think I will ever be able to afford to buy another one. I would have to win one or have one willed to me or given to me somehow. I figured Its a long shot but worth the time to share my story with you. Your car looks very nice and you must love it like I loved mine. I don't blame you. But I will leave off with letting you know that it would be in the right hands if it came to me. Have I great day/night.
    From, Kevin.

Great story. I know how she feels. I have both my srt8 challenger and 2015 mustang gt that I will never sell. They will stay with me until the day I pass...going to have it in the will that if it doesn't stay in the fam....they're going to any car museum. Those are my babies. Lol

I just want to sit and visit with her for a few months...just to hear about her life and all the good times had with the Mustang. I feel bad for her that she doesn't have family that would appreciate it. How many of us had to give up cars we loved somewhere down the road because family was the priority...and would give anything to have them back and pass them down? I wouldn't change a thing about the car either...because you shouldn't change memories. Thanks for taking care of it for so long, Lyn and I hope you find that special person to love it like you have.

oh, how I wish I had that mustang! my momma died when I was 15 years old and she had bought a 65 yellow mustang brand new 2 years before I was born. I loved that car so much. well my mom let me drive the car when I was just ten years old, and I pulled out,, by the way, she was with me, but I pulled out on a blind hill and a tractor-trailer was hell getting it and rammed into the back of us so hard the transmission went sliding down the road beside us and we landed in a ditch!!! I'll never forget it. my mom loved that car so much she wouldn't get rid of it and told me it was mine now, but while my mom was sick, my dad was drunk and sold it to his bossman at brollhill furniture in Lenoir NC. and he restored the car and had it, as far as i know, its still in his family. I was so mad at my dad for selling my car and moms car. but dad died also just two years after mom. I know ill never see that mustang again but, I swore I would buy another someday, but now I'm 51 disabled and can't afford one, but that's ok I have my memories as clear as yesterday, whoever ends up with that car mam, I hope they treat it like it was their moms! cause that's what I would do.

I would even rent a garage to keep him safe it would not ever under any circumstances leave my family actually may do the same as you when my time comes just to know he is safe

Is there a way to submit a video of myself requesting to be part of her consideration of willing to a person that will treat the mustang the way she treated it for the past 55 years
I really want to meet Lyn Adams in person, her love for the mustangs is greater than anyone I know and Im part of the Mustang of Orange County fan club
This whole video just warm my heart
I hope i can be apart of this story, I really hope whoever she pick to will the mustang too, that they will keep their promise in taking care of this mustang.

I was only ten years old when the mustangs came out and adored them from afar as they were not available in Australia. I still love the look and sound of the mustang V8 from 64 & 65 and it is a credit to you that it is all Original I get so sick of seeing modified cars that do not represent or reflect the desire to own one of these for what it really is. It’s history and memories and should be used daily to show people what a real car is. I’m sad that you can’t trust your family to respect and love and maintain it for you when yo go. I hope you find a worthy recipient.

I rebuilt a 1968 mustang for my daughter. I gave it to her for her 16th birthday. I had to sell the car so I could send her to college. I really miss that car. I worked on everything on that car. So if you see fit to will me your mustang I would take care of it for a very long time.

As well kept a car as it is, it would need a owner who knows the value of the car and how special it is. I hope she finds that certain someone as it practically needs everything. A man like Chip Foose would put it back to original every nut bolt and screw as he himself had a hand in designing newer ones at the factory. It would be garaged and driven in the good weather and her name would remain on the title of it as the owner, just storing it for her return, not so much from heaven as that is not possible but the girl who most reminds him of the lady herself

The irony is my parents were never into cars and I always was bummed they didn’t have a car that had been cared for like this that I could then love and care for and one day pass on to the next generation to care for it. I could buy one it’s not a money thing for me, but it wouldn’t be the same as knowing the story like this wonderful woman tells it and then continue it on to realize that the car itself is a character in this story of life. Too bad her daughters aren’t interested. I truly hope she finds the right home where that car will be valued as it should be. My prayers are with her.

This is someone who really appreciates a vehicle. No matter what, the car is driven. This is what they are made for. Not to sit around in someone's collection, never to be driven. The only time a car should be on a trailer is when it's broke down and can't move under it's own power.

If you wanted you could put me in the will it is my dream so someday own a 1965 mustang and I know if I ever get one I will love and cherish it as you have yours. I don’t understand how anybody could sell one or let it go to rust or anything else and not get behind the beautiful wheel of it everyday that is my dream to have a mustang like yours and cherish and drive it until the end of my time and to show it to the world by taking it everywhere and not hiding it away but also not selling it or trading it away for anything
