Jack Malcomson was my junior footy coach, and a good friend to my family. For years, I had no idea he wrote what is arguably the greatest VFL/AFL song. When I did find out, and asked him about it, he laughed and sort of shrugged, and said "Yeah, I did ok with that." Mr M was a great man, and someone I still look up to.

most of the best theme songs are original, how bout that. port, gws, west coast, and freo have some of the best theme songs and theyre all original other notable good theme songs are richmond, collingwood, brisbane, and adelaide
All "original" songs are complete and utter crap. Why would you try to write your own music when there are centuries of classical tunes better than you could ever write yourself. You want a simple song that can be sung in 30 seconds by sweaty players in a changeroom or by half-cut supporters in the pub.
