Great job! Far better quality production than my early videos that's for sure. I really like the storytelling here too. Nice work Nate 👍🕹️ Oh and thanks for the shout out 😉 Your friend in retro, Perifractic
It was entirely out of necessity. The location of this gaming rack has changed and has prompted the need to build a similar, albeit shorter for a new arrangement. I don't know if I'll do a video on that or not. The systems going on this are more "modern" and I may have to add some kind of front door. Not sure on this yet.
Thinking about this, I could VERY easily retrofit the shelves to slide out with not a whole lot of effort. Time to get back to Fusion 360 and design a concept!
Sooo interesting! Loved how factoring for potential of wasted materials is part of the build. Having all those machines out on display seems well worth it, conveniences aside. Excellent work mate! PS. Yes it needs RGB lighting :)
RGB lighting is a must, I agree. The more I see the lack of illumination from that corner the more I agree. Now I need to figure out a way to make it look right and not like I just threw it together. :)
@@CubicleNate Possibly zoneable and programmable - different colours for different machines (but without looking too much like unicorn sick). Maybe even controlled with a Pi - because why not!?
I do enjoy building things. I think the trick is figuring out what works best for you. I am finding new flaws in my basement "SuperCubicle" that will have to be addressed.

You are very kind. Thank you.
Nice work; I'd like to get more organized with my systems so this provides some food for thought!

Good job! ❤️ the intro.
Thanks, I'm pretty proud of those first 17 seconds! I was stuck at that point for several days...
Hey, I like it!! The game rack looks well constructed and I look forward to seeing it in person. Nice work on the video, too!
Thanks Joe! I'm sure if anyone can make a mess of it, you can! I think it is one of your specialties. :)
@@CubicleNate Absolutely! It's what I do!
Well done, Nate! Loved the video. Your knowledge and methods are amazing. Keep it up, dude!
And slow, don't forget slow. ;) Thank you!
@@CubicleNate I hope you measured twice before cutting ;)
@@skybear3530 Twice, three times, sometimes 4... the trick was making sure the guide was the right distance from my cut line and still, not perfect!
I see my pencil is now famous
For the C-64 you could add drawer slides on the extra shelf above the X-Box. That way you'd be able to use the mighty Comodore in place !

@@sleepyeyesvince Pi or Arduino... heck, maybe even by that VIC 20 I used as a stand-in? :D
maybe some crown moulding on top the shelf , give a royal treatment xD
@@skybear3530 Golly, I can't make it too fancy. A guy like me doesn't have fancy things!
Interesting... Now that I'm redoing my basement office, it makes me want to research this more!

Job well done.
Thank you! It was a fun project.
