The costumes of the super heroes are one of the most important things in any production and this is something that has been missing for a long time in Power Rangers. In 2025 the franchise is going to have a reboot and it is expected that one of the things that will change are the costumes so that they can have the quality that any high-end production has.
Power Rangers is an American television series and franchise of the tokusatsu genre, version of Super Sentai Series, a Japanese television series of the same genre. It has been broadcast since 1993. From 2002 to 2009, the franchise was owned by The Walt Disney Company, but was reacquired in 2010 by Haim Saban, its creator and original driving force between Mighty Morphin and Wild Force (the latter created early in production before the sale of Saban Entertainment to Disney). On May 1, 2018, it was confirmed that the franchise was bought by Hasbro.

It should be like the costumes in the original MMPR movie, but designed like Captain America in The Winter Soldier. The colors could still pop, it would have the same movement as spandex, but be more tactical, having an advanced armor type look.
The 1995 movie suits were great! With today's technology they should be able to have better flexible materials that could still look simular to the 1985 movie suits

I don't want the new suits to be cgi. Not only would that be lazy, but it would be disconnected. You can do colorful "realistic" suits without them being washed out. There's too much cgi nowadays. Just because a suit is colorful, doesn't mean it's not realistic. If you actually go outside, you'll see there's actually color. People wear clothes with different colors. Nature has an assortment of vibrant colors. I hate it when modern movies/film look so dreary and bleak to look "realistic'. If those people have actually gone outside, they'll see that the outdoors is very vibrant and colorful. Saying something isn't realistic because it's saturated is a copout. Having actual suits would be tangible. When I'm looking at cgi, I feel nothing. But when I see actual suits, I'm drawn in.
It's so unnatural that studies that just painted some fish with saturated colors got other fish hyper stimulated in trying to mate with the painted wooden fish. So yeah, pretty unnatural but eye-catching even for other species.

I agree! I mean, the new stuff looks cool. But literal costumes makes it look real and touchable. Like puppets before CGI. With CGI, you know what it’s fake. But with real suits make them look REAL.
Can people just enjoy the show or movie without complaining about CGI ?

Cgi is so good right now that it just makes more sense. Look at iron man. Like yeah, have a real suit that you photoscan and realistically recreate - but you can do so much more with cg. You still get the mocap from martial artists. 🤷♂️
The new suits are wayyyy better. They just need to make a real suit that matches the cg one, it means not going too unrealistic with the cg. Because you need shots with the helmet off, and those will be easier non-cg especially if they're non-action.
Now these suits are a whole lot better. I love the mixture of Spandex and Armor

If they're willing to "fix" the suits they're willing to change other things as well. I don't know about other people, but I want a Power Ranger reinvigoration that actually stays loyal to its roots. Stop it with the changes. Don't try to fix what isn't broken. I love the original suits. I want the original suits.
@@shefalichow7917no the original suits suck. If they're going to stick to the roots they need to do an anime/cartoon based off the comics. Otherwise the whole franchise is dying based off their numbers and changes are needed.

One of the best suits and suit designs are from LJ supersuits that worked on the shows like The Boys and Titans/Supergirl/Doom Patrol.
I believe if they mean this whole PR reboot serious they should really invest in something stronger and better looking than spandex.
You can get good CGI on smaller budget or bad CGI with decent budget (as seen in recent Marvel and DC movies and TV shows).

The suits need to be like the ones showed at the Thumbnail of the video. I've seen this suit for years now and it looks By far best suits I've seen , has the classic look just looks more modern and up to date. No fabrics , go with the suits that the white ranger in the thumb nail has. And people are gonna love them.

That said in terms of aging up the power rangers designs I think kamen rider in general has already found the best way of doing so
Like take the white ranger from MMPR for example if I personally were to try and update the look of that suit I’d take design cues from kamen rider Ixa which is a beautiful design and I think a sort of mix of the two would make for an excellent power ranger suit design that is trying to look more formidable/sturdy and mature while still being very evocative of what makes for a strong power ranger suit design

I actually loved the live action alien looking costumes. And I'm sad that they never got a sequel because I wanted to see a modern green ranger look with gold shield. 😭
I don't have a problem with CGI. When used properly, it works very well. I want the new Power Rangers series to be entertaining. Whether it's based on Sentai or not, it should have great characters and great stories. That's all I want.

Power rangers could easily be marvel/dc or star trek or star wars level. As far as content and show quality. The actual lore of power rangers has never been childish.
Furthermore the kids that made the show grew up. The way the aforementioned studios do their movies/shows is very plausible for a universe like power rangers.
It's so much lore with the morphin masters, morphing grid and various good quality power ranger seasons (zeo, space/lost galaxy, lightspeed rescue, timeforce/spd).

The 2017 movie I honestly believe has by far been the BEST Power rangers movie since the og mighty Morphin power rangers. I've been a power rangers fan since I was a baby I was born in 95 so yeah I strongly want to and hope for a new power rangers real life show for us who originally watched it

When it comes to combat oriented costumes, I am fine if they look like they are bulky with armor because combat suits are supposed to defend the person.

Those suits still exist but have been falling apart for years now. The actors also complained of them being very uncomfortable and hard to move in.
Oh my god! I am a Rangers Fan, since my childhood! So walked in the new Film, And i have to admit, it was a desaster. I really hope, that the do not screw it up a second time.

There's really nothing wrong with the suits from the 2017 movie. The problem is the helmets....and the theme. The suits would have worked fine for something Cosmic themed.... The helmets, on the other hand, don't really appear to have a theme to them at all. And the whole part with the front of the helmet opening to show their faces was also a mistake. They would reuse the suits with properly themed helmets and be just fine.....with the proper theme for the series. It would have to be a space type theme though.

There are 2 reasons why the Sentai Series and by extension Power Rangers, need to stick with the Bright Colored Spandex. Those reasons are called Metal Hero and Kamen Rider.
But seriously speaking, the armor type slick design is doable for any sentai or power ranger series. The problem is it will be too close to the motif of the said series above - thus the need to distinguish the Sentai Series vs the other Tokusatsu series via costume motif and design.
Besides, the costume upgrade was already explored in the sentai universe even before, to a more armor like costume - case in point Chouseishin Gransazer. If power rangers will need to change they will need to go on that direction that Chouseishin Gransazer did to make get the best of both worlds, design, color and budget wise.

With all the technology now they can make suits looks amazing. Mighty morphin power rangers suit design is best, if they make suit fabric like man of steel (superman or Batman) the suit would looks awesome and insane!!!
