I just got back from samoa after spending 10 days with my partners family no motel just living hard like they do its given me a new respect for samoan people and the hardship people go through on a daily basis :)
I'm one of the few Dutch person with Samoan descent. Just got back from Samoa and had no idea that this song has its roots in Holland.. Along with Jacob Roggeveen, who 'discovered' the Samoan islands, this song is probably the only other thing connecting the 2 countries. Great song!

I wish they have the Samoan version with lyrics, I'd love to master it too just like the English version. I'd pause and pause my phone writing every word down and I know all my spellings are wrong but it doesn't matter as long as I understand myself whenever I sing it. Much ❤

Wow, thank you guys so much for the "likes" & subscriptions! I posted this video nearly 5 years ago (2016) after returning to Melbourne, Australia from a trip to Samoa after 10 long years, for my late Grandmother's ma'a tu'ugamau (headstone) headstone. This song was played nearly everywhere we went in Samoa and I managed to get a cousin of mine to "Cshare" the song to my phone so I could upload it. Definitely brings back memories. Thanks again everyone.
