honestly, in the scene where el thinks mike doesnt love her, you have to have some sympathy for mike. nancy was in a similar situation w steve. the reason the wheelers cant say i love you is because they grew up with their parents not being in love, (hence the constant fighting and mrs wheelers cheating) and them only staying together for holly.
