This might be a stupid question, but I'm relatively new to the EDM/rave scene. When artists go on big tours like this together, do they change up their set a lot? Or do they typically play the same songs in the same order? Like from city to city.
Not a stupid question at all man, even long time fans probably won't know the answer. A mark of a good DJ is the ability to read the crowd and create a fluid set. Martin Garrix said in an interview that when he feels the crowd energy go down, he plays the big pop hits like 'Animals' to get their energy up, but other times if they like the other stuff he plays, he gets to save the fan favorites till the end. SevenLions is good at keeping a fluid set, he always changes the energy through different styles and different bpm, like 128bpm house, into 150bpm dupstep, into melodic dubstep lower tempo 140bpm etc. I think they have a general outline of their set though, cuz the light's and background images have to match also
This all is up to the artist and producer. Through time he/she will change their sets. Sometimes giving their music they did in the past, their biggest hits and more. Everytime a producer performs, it is always a diffrent experience. That what we EDM lovers love.
