    Just doing my own nail, can't afford nail school yet. Fell in love with gel bottle ink, but they are tech only brand. Started with IBD.

  • @mashellvin
    @mashellvin 6 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    I used IBD for years but got bored and frustrated with their small line. I then moved on to Young Nails which is amazing however I still wanted the ability to customize my clients gels to their nail types and lifestyles and that’s light elegance - their range is amazing and never fails to perform exquisitely 👏🏻💙😊

    I'm not a pro, but I have used Supernail, IBD, currently liking Crystal Nails. Supernail is very reasonably priced, especially when one practices often. Thanks for sharing your honest review!😘

      shihtzulur two Have you ever tried Silcare? I've heard good things about it, & I've heard you don't have to be liscenced to purchase it. Not sure about how it's priced, tho. Also wondering....do you like the Crystal Nails better than the others you've tried? I thought you had to be liscenced to buy Crystal Nails products.

    • @shihtzuluvrtwo6386
      @shihtzuluvrtwo6386 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Melanie Cape , I've heard about Silcare but have not tried it, not sure where to get it. Crystal Nails I really like. I'm using their pink builder with the fiberglass and so far I like it. Nice hard gel, my nails are flimsy due to meds. I also acquired their Baby Boomer gel kit and it worked great. I didn't need a license for their product, they ship fast out of Melbourne FL. Check out their website, all you need is to set up an account, they didn't require a license. I've tried gels from Germany, which are good, kept coming back to Crystal Nails. If you try the Silcare, let me know how it worked for you and where you found it.

    • @paigesartwork
      @paigesartwork 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      shihtzuluvr two I'm not really planning to try it anytime soon...but if I do I'll definitely let you know what I think. I'm currently using Canni builder gel. It's really the only one I've ever tried, but I really like it. Of course, I have nothing to compare it to right now, but I have no problems with it...& I build really long stilettos with it...& almost never break one, or have lifting. Thanks for the info & for chatting with me. 😘😘😘

    Hi Anastasia! I worked on many different hard gels but I found my favourite hard gel in Victoria Vynn, the consistency isn’t very thick is more of self levelling but I found them very fast apply, no lifting and less breaking even if trapped between door for medium length and they cure under both Uv/led lamps

    Hi there, I really enjoy watching your teachings on different nail tutorials. I do gel nails for past 10 years. I love CND Brissa line, sculpting, gel overlays and building nails. I like using gel pots and not bottles of gel inside them. I also use Shellac, it’s a builder and then cure it. Like the line of OPI OXICAM, they are coloured gel pots for building nails. These are affordable for me. I live in Canada and can get them locally. Would like to try higher end products like Young Nails, Light Elegance, Fuzion, Buttercreams and others. With these my distributor is out west of Canada. You have to spend very well over $200.00 to get free shipping. When I use AliExpress the shipping is almost same as the product price, it’s crazy. I’m licensed and even though I am with a license the products are expensive. I don’t have a big clientele and ordering high end products, I don’t make a profit or even break even. When you prep your nail good and use dehydrator, primer and base my nail honestly don’t chop or lift. I know this product is so known from Young Nails Protein Bond and so good, but for me to order from out west it’s like almost double with shipping. If it’s local sure I will buy all his products. There is another one called Gellish hard Gell for nail extensions or just overlays. Very good for me and no lifting. So last thing you offer nail classes online? Is it Gel or Acrylic system? I worked on Acrylic but not very good at it. Would like to learn better. Don’t know where you are for classes? Again if it’s online teachings I don’t mind. I have all the equipment. Love from Canada 💙

No lifting, but no matter what I've tried my free edge continues to chip. I think I need something stronger and will certainly try the suggestions you gave. Keep um coming. :)

    Ai... you said quality gels never will give allergic reactions and that is not true. Go around on YT, search for titles like 'am I allergic to' or not allergic and grab a brand and you will find enough people who are allergic to so many brands, as also top brands..
    But, I am very happy with your video's, you provide a ton of information and lots of great looks!
    My question.. I came accros lamps that have CCFL/LED and... what is that?
    I just can't seem to understand what products they are used for, is it gel? Or only hard gels or specific for Acrylic?
    What can you do with these type of lamps since I only see 'only for UV LED lamps' on every product?
    Is this a new type of lamps?
    Thank you so much for all you do, I just love your channel 😎🤗

    Hi, you mentioned the ibd doesn’t burn but I just did mines today using the led lamp and I must disagree with you, it does burn a bit. But I love the ibd compared to the Makartt polygel. I started on my thumb nail using the polygel and noticed the polygel is a bit softer than the ibd gel. I do like the application of the polygel which I find is less messy in the application opposed to the ibd. I did see that the ibd gel is coming out with the ibd gel in a bottle application in November which I can’t wait to try.

    Hi Anastasia. I spend all my money on Venalisa when I started doing gelnails. They send me their "new formula" and the old one, all mixed up. I complained for along time. They would not reimburse me. So one of the type of gels is so thick, I think I can best compare it with silicone sealer for bathrooms it kitchens. It sticks to absolutely everything. It does not self level at all!I cannot however build a nail with it. I use the scooper to put it on the nail. As soon as I touch it with any type of brush, it sticks to the brush. I use "monomor i.g. aceton with alcohol mix". It doesn't make a difference. The other type of gel they send me is thinner but gooey like melted chewingum in the sun on a sidewalk.
    Can I send you two pos of this gel? Would you make a video using them? What am I doing wrong. I want a gel I can swoosh from one side of the nail to the other and down. Which consistency should I be looking for? please help. My nail salon business never got of the ground because all my money went to their products. They seemed good in their ads 😭 Thank you

      I probably need to do a new one, as have more fav brands now, but these are still good!

    I tried out Venalisa builder gel but when I tried to use it a second time the top layer was very hard. Is there a proper way to store hard gel or is the brand just not good?

    I want to try to do my own gels but so nervous because you have to be SOOO precise! Undecided with gel like you use or the dual gels where you put in the tip and can remove the tip and work from there. Help!!!! Also what is a “soak off” nail gel? I don’t understand what that is/means?!

    • @Nailcou
      @Nailcou  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeniffer, if you want to do extensions I recommend to use Hard gels.
      Soak off gels are better for natural nail overlay and can be removed with soaking them off with a special remover.
      Dual forms is the method that works both for gel and acrylic

      KP2010 If your lamp has a low or half heat setting it'll help with the heating up while it cures. If yours doesn't have this setting than try curing for 5 seconds, take hand out for 5 seconds, repeat 😉

    • @Nailcou

      It's better to use Base Coat - they also have it in their brand.
      But other brand base coat will work in case you don't have it
