I have the same car , mines a 3 door on 148,000 miles had it serviced every 5,000 miles since ownership and replaced little wear and tear parts but honestly its never let me down and still drives great. The 1.4 duratec is a punchy little engine aswell, these things will run forever if you look after them.

The idle issue is a vacuum hose. This is a common issue. Easy to fix. Same goes for the power steering. It's not the pump but the small filter in front of the pump and then the pump can't suck in enough fluid
@@no-damn-alias Power steering is a common issue on the Mk6 Fiesta my dad had one and failed its MOT because it, they are very reliable cars and cheap to run which is why you see so many on the road, my mum has had a Mk6.5 Style for nearly 12 years and has been very reliable.
Old engine design = less problems but bad fuel economy in case of petrol. You can't say the same about diesel ones which were the reason why ford is looked down upon.

Just got a 2006 fiesta 1.4l petrol and so far it’s been lovely to drive clutch is very different compared to my instructors a1 but once used to it I’ve never driven better in a car I’m still learning and my driving has rapidly improved since practicing in this fiesta
I have the same fiesta but with 3 doors, black painting and it is ghia. I love to drive it, becaulse I have wide tires and this little larrikin takes every curve like a sportcar. I may be exaggerating, but that's the truth. And the sound of the engine is pretty cool.
@@kieran8845 I sold the car a year ago. I’m from Hungary. It was a ghia! It has windshield heater, seat heater, air conditioner etc… 🙂 It has a little rust, and it was expensive to repair, so I sold it instead. 😅

I think the Mk7 1.4 has 96 bhp yet the 0-60 and top speed are virtually identical to the mk6 strangely. Reliability wise amazing I've never had a mechanical issue and on 139,000 miles. Just be sure to get it serviced and the cambelt done . Little electrical things go wrong but they are solid .
250,000 km mk6 facelift 1.4 16v ghia 2008 and is going strong, a few bearings changed and the regular maintenance other than that good as new. only problem is the servo is hidraulic and is a bit stiff.. but that can be easily changed ... however i like it a bit harder ... lol

Normaly when the light indicator is going faster than normal is because the light needs to be change. It’s Made to help the conductor knowing there’s default without someone else behind 😉😊
Possibly an idle control valve issue. It can go faulty over time and give the engine false readings. Basically gets air, fuel mixture wrong and throttle sensor position / cold start values, stuff like that. Quite common on Fiestas. I had one and towards the end you didn't have to press the accelerator to get it moving when releasing the clutch because the idle was so high! Hope that explains it. 🙂

it's a low rpm engine, usually 2000 rpm up to 5th gear, and then in 5th you can max it to 5000 RPM and will eat the road literally and also will drink all ur petrol from ur tank in like 5 seconds. that is the default factory build... without any mods.
@@GeorgeZaharia Hmm. I think the Zetec is one of the best engines of it's time. I had the 1.25 version in a 1999 Fiesta and it was brilliant. I found the opposite - it was better when worked harder at higher revs. I wouldn't call it a 'relaxed' engine as it made quite a din a low speeds. Throttle and gearbox a bit of a weak spot and it is very revy zingy unit. Makes a great noise as well. You can hear the gears spooling up and it has a lovely but subtle induction roar. Good once cruising and decent fuel economy, reliable too! 😊

My first car was a 2005 model with the 1.6 Duratec. I ran it until it had 350,000km. Got a Mk3 facelift Focus now.
Brilliant car. I thrashed it and it was pretty much indestructible. Hugely reliable.

@@Babar13-2 I don't know how much RPM is at 120 but its certainly not 5k. Maybe 4 but 5k not for sure.

Ford fiestas are unbreakable mine is on 120,000 km which is around 70,000 miles and no issues

The speakers are very good even though are stock .
They're absolute garbage, makes a static noisd and has no bass whatsoever. I spent 200 EUR on a new sound system for mine and it's lovely now

Here's the thing with the Golf, body is prone to rust, most engines now have 300k and over.
Some engines were extremely problematic from the get go.

The one thing I hate about this car is that it has one cup holder. And you can’t holster your drink and use the ash tray
It actually has 3. The other two are in the door storage areas although can only hold a can or smaller cup compared to the centre holder.

I took it to 200km/h at 6000 rpm but it fights to get there. You'll mostly get 180 km/h easily
