I was deadheading with a very small group from Roanoke to Washington, dc. There were about 5 people total on the 19 car train. It was pretty spooky, but cool.
Wow BEAUTIFUL AND elegance, history from all the designs of our country's Pullman car collection,,, awesome video,,, I will never be that fortunate to see,,, thank you again
Thanks for taking us on a tour of these Historic Rail Cars. There is a refurbished private Pullman in Southern California named Petron (after the famous Tequila) that is really plush, with 3 bedrooms attached baths etc. kitchen ..lounge etc. Hopefully you can experience that one as well!
You know, Walt Disney and the Disney Family & VIP Members as well as Special Guest can hop on a Private Train Car to get a whole new luxurious perspective.
Great video! I've always wondered what these looked like inside and how to rent one. Who provides those services? Im sure is not cheap. Thanks for sharing.
I am very much taken with the {Orient express train} I would like to ask Sir what is needed to have a private car's and what should l know and be aware of.?What place do l talk to have this renovated .?And where so l go to, with having it put on rail and what is protocol about this.?How dose the train system run when wanting to travel.?
Nice!!!! I have gotten to ride on a number of private cars over the years on Amtrak's Coast Starlight train and California Zephyr train, I got some walk through and private car vids on my youtube account. Very nice cars here!!!
It would be amazing to be on that train it looks magnificent. Mannn if i owned that id invite all my friends and family to that or even if I could charter it.
Yes, the amount of money spent is basically equivalent to that of a private yacht or aircraft, but most car owners sell space on their trips or charter to groups. Amtrak Tariffs alone cost probably bare minimum 30 grand for a round trip excursion on most of their long routes.
"That's it, that's the train" he said - but that's also over 5 minutes of my life I can never get back. What was it? No captions, no commentary except a brief comment that the train was passing through a station somewhere.

Way too fast a walkthrough. Camera could hardly keep focus. Also, some narration on what we were seeing would have been useful. Lots of views, little information....
Private cars walk through Why are you "running" through the cars? Too fast to obsorb and appreciate the private cars. Why even waste your time and ours in the first place??? Dumb...
Well, "running through" would have saved us the pain and time we had to endure.. Who is this guy? Why did he even bother? Instead of any enjoyment, it just made you annoyed - angry would be a better word. Unbelievable! ???
Those were the old lounge sightseer cars with the domes on top. Before Amtrak, on the old Empire Builder (Seattle to Chicago) as run by the Great Northern Railway there were as many as three of them per train. They were considered bar areas, no kids allowed. The first one in this video showed the actual bar below, the second one looks like the lower level had been converted to a private room. They actually had barmaids (waitresses) that would take the orders and serve the customers and trained bartenders making the libations. Train travel in the 50's and 60's was considered high class travel. The final car they showed, with the stands by many of the seats, was a lounge/smoking car - although back then there weren't many places on board where you couldn't smoke.
I was going "GO UP THE STAIRS!" when he walked right by the dome cars stairs... LOL! I rode the Empire Builder back in the early 70's when it still had the domes and it was so cool!

I wish Amtrak cars had this elegance.
Wow that was so cool..like going back in time

@Lifty4ever well yea, but it would be nice to see it on the video ya know? The way it's laid out and such.
Where the heck was everybody, it seemed awfully creepy going from car to car and see no one there.
Great video! I've always wondered what these looked like inside and how to rent one. Who provides those services? Im sure is not cheap. Thanks for sharing.

I was thinking the same thing..It would appear as if the passengers dissapeared ..Really "Twilight Zone" like...But the cars were really cool!
BEAUTIFUL
Would be nice if they used these cars for a horror movie!
talk about blurry!!!!
very cool!
So private cars are sorta like hotels on tracks for the rich rail fans ?

@rafiguroian I would LOVE that!
They needed more people. 5 people on a 19 car train would not be my idea of fun.
RENT THESE OUT

So why not tell us in the video?
Well, pretty cool, although that's a bit too big a recreational vehicle for five people.
at 1:26 there was some pringols
1:26
You're brave, I don't know how you must have felt inside but it reminds me of the horror game Outlast 😱
Would have been nice to go much slower thru the cars so you could see everything
the person filming must have had to find a potty LOL

Kind of pointless without teling us what cars we are seeing ...
This are cool but if there are people inside this train,it will be more cool! kitchens in one car!!!!!
Thank you for the video, but next time try to walk a whole lot slower. Please.

landon1086 That's true. It looked tempting with all the lights illuminating the stairs, almost as if it were a night club of sorts.

@@markhbeardsley5102 I would convert the dome into a bedroom so I can lie in bed all day and watch the mountains roll by
