Great teaching episode. I learned how to tune a lure everyday and out of the box. I hope to put this to good use in the near future. Keep em coming. Love the episodes. Great teaching and entertainment.
Great job Dude! Might I add one more tip? I recommend going up one hook size for motor trolling vs casting. In other words, DRs come standard with 3/0 short shanks. Jump up to a 4/0 to create more keel weight underneath the lure. The DR (DepthRaider) easily accepts a 5/0! So, for high speeds - over 3 mph, I nearly always outfit my DRs with 5/0s. Drawbacks to larger hooks - the additional weight reduces buoyancy and might create more hook fouling. To combat hook fouling -- use short shank trebles. Another drawback is heavier larger hooks will take away some of the wobble. Essentially, it tightens up the wiggle/wobble. Rarely is this a negative when trolling at higher speeds however. Crankbait Secrets! 😀👊
Always a good tip, as usual. One question: Is that an SAE Crescent wrench and/or do you need a metric one for lures made outside the US? 😉 You did note that there are some lure tuning tools. Years back one used to be made by Bucher but haven't seen one of those for a while. Pretty simple to make but really not a one size fits all like your wrench (great idea BTW). I would think you could go to a 6 or even a 4 inch wrench to conserve space. It really doesn't take that much effort where you need a giant lever and would give you a little better feel of how much you're adjusting. Thanks again for quality content!
Thanks so much Michael!!! and LOL.... any wrench will work! haha. Yes, this particular wrench fits in my ammo box with my other tools so... it is a good size for me but I agree - you could even get more compact with a smaller size. More to come soon! Tight lines dude!
Playing with danger there. I've had that solid wire slip through split rings. Went to solid rings on the ends of leaders. Solid ring to split ring on line ties.
Best homeroom teacher
Thank you!!! GO WOLVES!!!

Hi Chas, what do you think of this Grasp technology on Legend Tournament series? Still a bit wierd to me...
I LOVE the handles specifically for flat line trolling! They make an excellent handle for holding the rod as I steer the tiller with my opposite hand.
@@MuskyMastery Thank you!

I like that idea man! I will look into it for sure! Thank you.
Why wouldn't you tune the crankbait to your trolling speed next to the side of the boat?
Just the way that I've always done it.... works for me. But I like your method too. I will give it a try.
