I was watching greys anatomy and they actually mentioned the name UCDavis in one episode!! alongside w ucsf and UCLA etc, soo maybe that helps answer whether or not its prestigious :)
im conflicted between ucsd or ucd!!! Im from socal so UCD would be a major move and I LOVE the location of USCD and the beach. But i absolutely love the community and overall atmosphere of davis (esp the non-competitive feel) any recommendations
Evelyn first of all, congrats on your acceptance to both! That is a tough decision, both are incredible schools! I’m from SoCal too, so moving up to davis was a huge change for me! There’s lots to consider when deciding on a college! Have you visited both campuses? What is your intended major? For me personally, my surroundings were an important part of my decision. I wanted to love the campus, and Davis is definitely a beautiful one! UCSD is as well, the beach is AMAZING! Also, which school is better for your major? Joli Noelle David hahahaha well u see I’m a junior. So I haven’t actually been accepted yet... but like research wise I’m conflicted between UCSD and UCD. I wanted to visit both campuses during the summer but idk when quarantine will end. Also I intended to Major in social sciences (esp sociology) and MAYBE be on route to go into premed - but it might change. One of the biggest things for me honestly is moving far from home, like my family and I are like the Brady bunch/ three musketeers. But Davis is really calling to me esp coming from such a competitive high school
@@arielle9982 ohh i see! Good luck I wish you the best with that! Actually ALL 3 of my housemates are sociology majors lol! And i took a soc class last quarter and it was so awesome. I was the same way, I'm a very homesick person but after a few weeks at Davis I felt really accepted by the community and the people I met :) It took a leap of faith for me to move so far from home because I am close to my family as well, but it was cool to get that true college experience of moving out of the house! And one of the best parts about Davis in my opinion is the non-competitive vibe! Everyone is just so willing to help each another out!
Thanks for the comment! Unfortunately they don’t offer online programs:/ during the height of the COVID pandemic, online learning was enforced but now it is fully back to in person learning! Hope this helped

I know the pandemic occurred during Spring quarter???? But I wonder, how hard was to do online learning as a college freshmen? Imma be a freshmen on September, but I'm kinda afraid of doing online learning :(
Online classes were a struggle for me at first because it was difficult to keep myself motivated. I for sure prefer attending classes in person :( But at the same time its always what you make of the situation! That is so awesome! Where will you be going to school?!

omg congrats thats so awesome!! :) I'm not sure about the poli sci major itself but I know davis is really strong in social sciences. I know a lot of people who are majoring in sociology and other social sciences and I've taken a soc class and i LOVE the professors!
