Good idea for testing equipment in unknown condition. I like to pick up vintage receivers at garage sales, flea markets, etc. Have trash picked stuff over the years as well. Easy and risk free way to check stuff out. Appreciate you posting this.

Presumably it might be good to test that the left and right channel produce the same voltage on the output at the same volume level.
