- This was a tough build - take a look as I try two different ways to build this Blue-Red spells deck, one of which ended up being quite a bit better than the other.

Today’s extra sweet since we got one here and one on CFB.
Really appreciate this upload. The exploratory way you built this deck and talked us thru the plays. really taught me a lot, and this is exactly what i wish more people did with their time on the test server. some creators built the same deck repeatedly, and when there is no rank to climb that's just not good content.

Probably the part I love the most about LSVs videos is how good he is at explaining his thought process.
at 5:02 you can take Ioreth which makes infinite untaps of a legendary creature if you get to copy it with Storm of Saruman. I actually got to pull this off in my prerelease where i opened both Storm and the other blue mythic kraken and got to instantly remove all 9 counters and untap the kraken.
wow thats sweet, not even just getting the untaps but having a relevant target too

I played Red/Blue and splashed black for Sauron at my pre-release. Needless to say it was fun and quite strong. I am enjoying this limited format.
edit: I'm glad you realized your mistake and added in Bilbo. It's a great card if you're playing blue/red
as a decade+ enjoyer of LSV content, I approve of this channel

“Gandalf and the Bilbos” sounds like a cover band that plays high school proms
had a lot of success at my pre release with bilbo + the falcon that flickers a creature whenever it does combat damage. easiest way to get the full ring temptation and smack hard

man, game 2 was so frustrating to watch. Its dishearting when you just sit down for a nice round of magic and the game decides "nope, you're going to draw 8 lands now"
He milled 4 non lands. That's what hurt most.

If Storm doesn't work in this deck there's a strong chance it doesn't work in any deck. I don't know more the deck could have reasonably gotten to enable it. It might be stuck as a sideboard card for slow matchups.
Both these decks would have benefited from the Flamesmith

Hi! Quick question, can you pay for triggered abilities more than once?
Example:
"If Creature deal damage to opponent, pay 3 colorless to put a token creature into play"
Can I pay 6 mana and put two tokens into play?
Can I pay 9 to put in 3?

Just curious, why did you decide makeshift club was a bad fit for your deck? It seemed like with all of the amass cards and the swarming of Morias, you'd have plenty of things to sacrifice for the cost. Also, doubling up the damage would be nice.
From my point of view this deck wants the orcs to get big for surrounded by orcs for milling either yourself for sanction or as a win con. I do think its decent because there is 2 Treasure makers as well
I would have expected you to take all the 1 mana draw one trinkets to dig for the copy card and use those trinkets to activate by casting it for 1 mana, then cast the spell you actually wanted to cast.
LSV sees a multi-color card in p1p1 but cannot lock himself in to a color combination that early so picks a single color card. LSV sees a blue/red multi- color card in p1p1 and sings its praises.
both versions of the deck got a win for every creature in the deck :)
Discarding stern scolding vs black is very loose. There are so many 4-5 drop hits.
Gandalf and Bilbo combo so hard.

I also removed storm of saruman after game 2. Was just too slow
