Your approach to layout weathering is the best I've seen on TH-cam, and I've watched a lot being a fellow modeller and train driver. Everyone seems to airbrush the rails before ballasting, but the colour of the rails covers everything within about a 30 metre radius, especially the ballast. So many modellers mask or cover lineside equipment and buildings to protect them from overspray, but that's not how it works in reality. When I have a gentle tail wind and bring my train to a stop, you would not believe how much brake dust you can see in the air in the right lighting conditions, and that covers everything nearby. Attention to detail is absolutely fantastic. It's definitely Swanage train station in minature to perfection. Next job maybe building Swanage town.
