Hey mate, if I make a pattern, can I then move the entire pattern around or do I have to build the pattern from the edge to start?

Yes...you can move the whole pattern around...you have to go into the programming mode, bring in the desired pattern, push the plus icon to where you select all the stitch points to the very end (keep your finger on that icon all the way), go to your function icon, select patterns movement, and move the whole pattern to the desired position using the arrows...then save the new pattern and get out of programming mode and back to sewing mode.
