Just installed this today. Some tips: -The order they do this in is weird. How I did it: --Run vacuum tubing --Wire all electrical connections & let cables lie on floor --Remove & modify vent assembly --Install gauge in pod --In car, route cables up through dash to vent area, route through vent assembly, plug in gauge, assemble gauge pod to vent assembly, shut vent door with cables in cut notch, install vent assembly into dash --Bundle up & zip tie wiring up under dash -Little tan plug attached to center vent assembly DOES pull out, no clips. However mine was EXTREMELY hard to get out. Be careful. It doesn't just come right out, not at all easy like the video makes it seem. -Install the gauge in the vent pod before installing the pod into the vent assembly. DO NOT use any grease. All this does is make sure the gauge will pop back out over and over and piss you off. -Zip tie hard plastic boost signal tubing to various items along the way while routing it. Don't allow tubing to ride on any metal or sharp surfaces. Vibration over time will wear a hole in the tubing and you'll wonder why your gauge doesn't do anything. -Be prepared to have extra patience when doing the wiring connections. VW/Audi gave the bare minimum of slack/extra wire. Space/wire length is very limited. -Use different connectors for mistake proofing, so you can disconnect/reconnect for service needs and not struggle to remember what wire goes where. For example I used on gauge wiring harness side: 1 male bullet 1 female bullet 1 male spade 1 female spade Use the accompanying connector for the headlight harness side. -Headlight switch wiring varies from car to car. The vehicle used in this video is a highline (uses smaller gauge wiring and a central electronics unit). The important thing to know that the PDF instructions are TERRIBLE AT describing is the descriptions of the sources: Gauge red to HL black = Keyed 12v Gauge grn to HL red = Constant 12v Gauge white to HL grey/blue stripe = backlight for gauge (Park lamp switched on) Gauge black to HL brown = Ground I highly recommend you have a multimeter and know how to check DC voltage, resistance to verify ground. This helps double check your connections. One good enough to do this job can be acquired cheaply. Happy boosting!
keep in mind that this is on a automatic. The hole that they show to run the line through into the car is not there on a standard. I suggest running the hard line from inside the car to the tap so you can use a pre made path and grab it on the other side.
Thanks for the video and congrats for the initiative. The web's full of random shops selling random cheap stuff with no directions on how to install the parts.
I have purchased this item and would recomend to place the boost gauge on the vent pod before installing the vent. It is much easier to fit it and the only way I could.
I just finished installing this boost gauge kit. It looks Fantastic, But there are two main concerns i have with it. One is that in this installation video you do not use all the parts givin to me in the install kit, I have a whole grouping of it looks like rubber hosing left over, What is this for? Secondly, The gauge isint secured by anything in the vent pod, It moves freely to the right because of the wires pulling on it from behind...
Okay I have. 2008 Audi 2.0t a4 And I took out my headlight switch, mine does NOT have the Black wire of the plug, (from the headlight switch) Gauge/headlight Red-black(have the red but no black) Green-red( have those ones) White-blue grey ( have those ones) Black-brown ( have those ones) So what do I need to do?
ECS, what are the differences between the 1.8T and the 2.0T kits? Also, is this installation process similar with a '07 B7 A4 2.0T? If not, I would like a link that will point me in the right direction to properly install the 2.0T boost gauge. Thank you.
My car has a hose from the brake fluid to the grommet to run my vacuum tube under my dash. Why is that tube not shown in the video and what should I do with it?
How about on a 2013 2.0 tfsi. With a metal intake manifold. Because if i had a line running like that from my manifold. This job would have been done days ago. But for the life of me i cant find any Vacuum lines to tap into.
Your illumination should be controlled with a power and a ground. Put your ground on a good bare piece of metal under a bolt. The power needs to be hooked into an accessory power. Which is a power when the key is on
i have a vw passat b5 1.8t and i came to get your newsouth performance boost and oil pressure gauges..i want to know even if i have a mechanical boost gauge if i put my hoses right where you put it on the video or i need to put it somewhere else thank to help
Something is not right here with this install. You ran 2 sets of wires into the vent and these 2 sets attached to the boost gauge one set was for the sensor and the other i presume for power. When your showing the wiring connections you only show the sensor wires connecting to the back of the light switch harness. What happened with the other wire harness??
And lastly (I'm assuming this has nothing to do with the Gauge itself) But i have a stage 1 2004 B6 A4 Automatic and the boost is only showing a max of 14psi (I'm told it should be around 21psi.) Is it possible that i left the plastic tubing underneath the steering column to long so it is reading the boost pressure wrong? Or might this be a mechanical issue?

Absolutely doable. Just a friendly option/suggestion from the conssumer. Set up and look is great.
ECSTuning = Best FN' How-To videos EVER ! Thanks guys for all those informations you guys are putting here !
couldn't have made the wires the same color as the harness wire, could you?
Very good this video, I had to do a repair on my AUDI air outlet and the video fully met my need.
How do you send the wires into the cabin if the car is a manual? The instruction here is for an automatic I believe.
keep in mind that this is on a automatic. The hole that they show to run the line through into the car is not there on a standard. I suggest running the hard line from inside the car to the tap so you can use a pre made path and grab it on the other side.
+ECSTuningMedia I cannot find this grommet anywhere and I looked in the location that is shown in the video. Did they move it on the 2005 b6?
+ECSTuningMedia Also, mine is a 6 speed manual
Thanks for the video and congrats for the initiative. The web's full of random shops selling random cheap stuff with no directions on how to install the parts.
I don'thave that hole under the master cyclinder. I have an 05 b6. any other way to get into the car? thanks

@4:00 do not bend those plastics that hard in a now very old car, unless you want to break them.
That was a great video on the install.
Why does the background music sound almost like the end of Fight Club when the buildings are blowing up?
Any videos on how to connect a turbo timer ? On a B5 a4? Or any links to know how to properly connect it? I would appreciate it thanks
You guys say in the video to use bullet connectors but when you installing the headlight switch in I see red T-taps. Are the T-Taps better?
why fo through the effort of pluming the pipe in from the engine bay?isnt it easier to install the sensor in the engine bay?
That rubber grommet near the ECU is being used by my brake fluid tank. There's hose that goes into that. Please help

Red-black(have the red but no black)
Green-red( have those ones)
White-blue grey ( have those ones)
Black-brown ( have those ones)
So what do I need to do?
I have a 99 B5 A4. Is the wireing still the same for my car? I just want to make sure before I hook it up and not find out the hard way lol.
Do you have it for right hand drive cars as well?
ECS, what are the differences between the 1.8T and the 2.0T kits? Also, is this installation process similar with a '07 B7 A4 2.0T? If not, I would like a link that will point me in the right direction to properly install the 2.0T boost gauge. Thank you.
Keith Fendley it's same as b6
My car has a hose from the brake fluid to the grommet to run my vacuum tube under my dash. Why is that tube not shown in the video and what should I do with it?
hi, I bought this boost gauge ES#2535264 for a passat b5.5 and I am worrying about the wiring. Is it the same wire color ?
What if u have only 2 cables
Red and Black ???
How about on a 2013 2.0 tfsi. With a metal intake manifold. Because if i had a line running like that from my manifold. This job would have been done days ago. But for the life of me i cant find any Vacuum lines to tap into.
You could use this line for the preassure gauge. It should be the preassure line to feed the N75 and Blow off valve.
Do you have a video for the 2014 jetta?
I do not have a black wire on my harness. There is a purple one plugged into the same connection. Please help
Cameron S Koepp did you figure it out?? I have the same problem??
Hello did this is the same wiring for 2004 audi a6 2.7t
My gauge doesn’t illuminate when i turn on the headlights which wire does this apply to in the harness so that i can try to fix it
Your illumination should be controlled with a power and a ground. Put your ground on a good bare piece of metal under a bolt.
The power needs to be hooked into an accessory power. Which is a power when the key is on
Will this work the same for a a4 b7 2.0t
Do one for the MK5 Jetta!
i have a vw passat b5 1.8t and i came to get your newsouth performance boost and oil pressure gauges..i want to know even if i have a mechanical boost gauge if i put my hoses right where you put it on the video or i need to put it somewhere else thank to help
Did you ever get an answer i am having the same dilemma
Great video, explained it very well, are these available for r/h drive car's too
how similar is this for a 2000 audi a6 2.7t quattro?
is this same product and procedure applied for VW 2007 B6 Passat 2.0T as well?
REN ZHANG I presume it would certainly work with the b7 Audi as they have a nigh on similar interior but for the VW it may be different.
But you actually used t-taps with quick connnect vs bullet crimps.. 👍
What kit???
Where do i find all that kit u have there ?
And lastly (I'm assuming this has nothing to do with the Gauge itself)
But i have a stage 1 2004 B6 A4 Automatic and the boost is only showing a max of 14psi (I'm told it should be around 21psi.) Is it possible that i left the plastic tubing underneath the steering column to long so it is reading the boost pressure wrong? Or might this be a mechanical issue?
do you have to have the lights on for the gauge to work?
is it sure that i have to take the signal from this tube?
This boost gauge fit on a diesel engine 2.5l 120kw?????
Is there also a kit for b6 cabriolet 1.8T?
Is it the same for A6 C5 1.8T AWT engine?
Will this fit the 08 a4 wagon 2.0?
Do you by chance make one in tan?
is this the same for an audi b5?
Would tvis fit in an audi a4 avant 2000 ?
thank's for video!!! really good video!!! P/s: Hi from Kazakhstan!!!

+Palani Kurdish to which country you dumb ? :D
Do you have anything like this for the a6 2.7t
I had one go bad under warranty and the second one just died. Don't bother if you want it to last.
Jacob Kirkpatrick or find an autometer gage to fit their bezel
I live in the uk. Do you ship overseas?
It makes me mad that you only make this style gauge for the a4/s4. I want one in my a6. So I'm buying it and cutting it to fit
Will this work for a gti?
so... your 1.8t looks different than mine. not only did I notice that, but the grommet into the dash doesn't even exist on my car.
Kyle Harris, I noticed the same thing. It looks like they removed part of the breaking system which uses that grommet. Makes it a whole lot easier.
I want to order this where can I get it? link pls
Sure thing! Here's the link: goo.gl/urBaOD
Wish they made it for my C5 A6 2.7t!!!
Can I follow this video to install this Gauge or do I have to do something different? Mfg Part# VD0BGKT

most hack wiring i've seen in a while.
What the F? I guarantee boost leak in this install.
Fongkong!
Does this assembly apply to ALL boost gauge installations?
What if u have only 2 cables
Red and Black ???
