same here man I remember watching that game as a madridista and ronaldo supporter. the only thing I knew about quaresma then was my uncle telling me how great he was, but knowing his story made this really touching
This guy was like a myth. Magical with the things he did. I used to feel lucky every time I got to watch him in live matches. Streets won’t forget the trivela king🔥
The Trivela is beautiful ,but its not enough to be a game Changer. Talented has he was,the "Trivela" was just another "weapon" on his powerfull and huge "arsenal". I know Quaresma since he was an huge Talented kid, from Sporting Academy. And Also followed his career along the years. When he was at Porto,he was fantastic, but like many, many other players maked the wrong decisions Over Money . ( And bad advices). Thats when he wasted his True Potentional. He could be One of the best Ever, but "Beliefs" and bad companies,Turned Quaresma in One of those players, that people tend to say "why Turkey, why ..." .Well you know what i mean. He has a very respectfull player, but the "Greed" for Money, and a lousy manager, makes Quaresma,One of the Biggest "what If" in football history.why,Greed and bad people around him. He had it all,the "Trivela" always be remembered, has "Quaresma" trademark. But its sad to see what This guy could have achived ( he did at FC Porto) if playing for One of the Greastet. Dont get me wrong.Quaresma has the top titles under his belt, but he could be more, much more . Nevertheless,as a Sporting fan,and watched his career going to fast for a "mentaly slave" player of his own people . But to finish, thank God that after so many years,he had the courage to break that "Chain", wich had until a few years ago,Ruled his life. Most of the people dont know what iam talking abaut, and iam not gonna enter into that. Google it,and you gonna understand. PS : when i said "blunder", its not on a negative way,but in the Sense that, the poor choices and decisions, had and huge impact in his career and "testament". He has the Biggest titles in European football, but for his "genious", he could have the triple as that. But it his Quaresma story.
I'm telling you now... anyone objective watching this guy on the ball would put him STRAIGHT into the top five most skillful players EVER. It's actually scary seeing him dribble at a level the very best skilled ATGs would be impressed by! Sadly, an upbinging that likely fostered a sociopathic mentality puts him amongst those players that could and should have been worldwide legends, but doesn't allow them to flourish. Basically, he needed a manager who would fully recognise his genius and build a team around him (the gamble being his mentality would diminish with the responsibility). Without this, he was always going to clash with any controlling -style manager. Would have loved for him to to have nicknamed 'Charisma' ; )
I remember when he arrived to Barcelona, I always thought he was more talented than Cristiano but sometimes just talent it’s not enough. Quaresma one of my fave players in modern football
it's true that Quaresma doesn't have the politically correct mindset but whilst Ronaldo at United had Alex Ferguson, who was like a father to him; Quaresma had Rijkaard, who fucked him over.
my personal top 3 has always been 1-Ronaldinho 2-Juan Roman Riquelme 3-Ricardo Quaresma those players changed the way i watch and enjoy football, all three of them lacked consistency and might not have the best numbers but i don't care, i learned to enjoy little details and i just think the way those 3 treated the ball was beautiful
Ricardo Quaresma, absolute magician, he pulled out victories for Beşiktaş from everywhere that seemed impossible, he helped us to get numerous of league titles, played alongside with Babel, Talisca carried the team going up from the group stage in 2017-18 Champions League season without a defeat as a group LEADER, that is a big achievement for a club like ours. Put joy in our hearts. Made us love football even more. Everybody knows, if both team manages to go to Champions League, Porto and Beşiktaş will be in the same group like Quaresma, his place in our hearts is forever reserved. Magic Man of the game, Ricardo Quaresma Big respect! Thanks.
he is a straight legend he just didnt have the right coach he is the magician he does trivelas ronaldo chop he is a trickster he owns the la croqueta and rabona
Without a doubt he is one of my favorites & I felt like he never got the sort of recognition he deserved. Watching him & Ronaldo play has been magical. I love their bromance & the sort of skill they both equally have.
Look at his original videos. His voice is helped a little by modern convenience. Which is okay, but still anyone could have "the perfect voice" but some people find it inauthentic to do so.
Aaah!!! I remember Quaresma! Since FM 2007 until FM 2009 I always have this urge to get him for my club and he always perform quite well. What a nostalgic feeling
Heard of this guy and was aware of how talented he has been... But never knew his history... Thanks for making this wonderful video... And I don't know what would have happened to real Madrid if messi and cr7 were barca players... I think madridistas need to thank this guy🙏🙏
Wow, you made me cry again. Your love of football really comes through in the way you tell these stories. You've also explained things about Quaresma that I didnt know and made me appreciate him more. Thank you, but I may have to stop watching your videos because they make this old man cry too much.
He's easily in top 5 favorites, perhaps even top 3. I started really paying attention to european football around 2006 when I was 9. Watched a bunch of leagues and not having any connection to a city, or a club, I would pick who I would be supporting based on which teams could captivate me more. In Portugal it was an easy choice. Mostly because of this man. I remember seeing his trivela goals and being mesmerized. Went into my backyard every day and practiced kicking the ball against the wall until I was able to curve it like he did. Coincidentally my 2 other favorite teams in Europe were Chelsea and Inter... Wish he had succeeded there too
I believe as a Beşiktaş fan, most of us, including me, still miss him and want him on the team. Only thing I wish for Ricky is to make his jubilee in a team he loves with fans that love him as well.
Quaresma's resurgence was electric. Especially in the euro 16. When the team needed a spark he would come on and make things happen. An absolute hero in my book and can only hope many other as well for helping my national team raise a trophy.
I commented on the last video you made of Quaresma, I'll always say this guy is my favourite footballer of all time. Was fortunate enough to watch him playing during a friendly against Brazil in the Emirates stadium. Only wished managers make use of his potential more because he would have been an even greater player with more accolades.
Besiktas trainer Senol Günes made his entire game plan on Quaresma. playing Talisca Aboubakar and Cenk as 3 strikers. Besiktas were very successful with this game plan beat everyone in the champions league and was playing really exciting football . He was the Gypsy King of the Besiktas fans. I think that he should retire with a Porto-Besiktas game while Senol Günes is again at Besiktas trainer. He said for him that "I understood myself with Günes". PS; anyone wants to see the best assists in the CL history, watch Besiktas 3rd goal against Benfica in Istanbul. A rabona assist in the 90+ can be only done by Quaresma.
Do a video on Jorge "el maggo" Gonzales. Maradona once called him the best player in the world. He is a lesser known player since he came from El Salvador and unfortunately did not care much for football as a profession but loved the game for the fun of it.
Damn, such a great video. Quaresma is also one of my favorite if not the favorite. Very very well done. I’m pretty sure Ricardo and Cris would very much enjoy this video. Thanks a lot!!
@@abdelbari5188 no he wasnt. I am Besiktas fan also but Ronaldo at United was and is the most talented football player in the football history. People remember him with his last years but he was completly different player with Ferguson. Video is also wrong. United had chosen Ronaldo, thats why Barcelona had to take Quaresma. not other way around. United was the richest and best team in the Europe those years. Barcelona wasnt even in the top 5 team until Ronaldo arrived.
I mean, just looking at his international performances you could see easily that he was a big game player. Straight up, having the confidence to take outside of the boot long shots shows you.
I always loved them both. I'm just happy him and Ronaldo never fell out or had bigger egos take over. I remember when he came to Chelsea i was excited to see him, but it never fully happened. Although I can see the talent there it just needed to be unleashed
My favourite player of all time ...hands down!## i grew up around sporting stadium and Quaresma the "cigano" always was a legend ... Who knows. Knows.... Salute to you for making this video...
13:21 I would never thought you would mention my club in any of your videos but here we go lmao. Al Ahli that season had finally rebuilt the club and started challeging for the league with amazing youth players and excellent signing like Grafitti also having fabio Cannavaro as our director for the club, and we were so excited with the addition of Quaresma. Unfortunately, his attitude off the pitch was so bad we had to terminate his contract but we will never forget the magic he provided in his first few months. Im glad he made a comeback though.
U see that's where the issue comes in..... Many players are super talented or gifted however their attitudes.... Character... Discipline... And egos are just over the top and out of control. No matter how good a player may think he is no one man is bigger than a football club just remember that... Furthermore football is a TEAM sport. That is what the so called talented players tend to forget. I feel like in this modern Era of football all clubs should employ or seek to employ a psychologist for the players to steer them on the right path. Thereafter if the player messes up its totally on him and the fault lays squarely on his shoulders alone.
One of your best videos! Quaresma is, as you said, the biggest enigma of football. Everyone seems to fall in love with him at first sight and nobody understands how is career went the way it went. You did an amazing job of giving answers to that mystery. Quaresma will always be remembered for the joy he gave us on the pitch and in the end actually and ironically for his mentality of never giving up (stubborn es for better or worse)
Great video. As a kid everyone thought I was crazy for being a big fan of him growing up. He inspired me to play with flair. He had more edge to his game than Messi and Ronaldo which is why I liked him so much. From the USA, no one understood it. But so glad he got his Euro and another chance at Porto. Also the swag! I did always wish for him to be at a bigger club but that would take the cult like following and mystique away from him, his play and his character. This video does him justice, I thought he felt short but given his set backs, with coaches and clubs, I don't think Messi or Ronaldo could have overcame them. #RQ7
Quaresma always said he wouldn't change his game for anyone. I fully support him. If you buy a player why would you want to change his game? How does this make any sense? Coaches like Rijkaard or Mourinho are the opposite of what Quaresma needed to thrive. His time at Porto also made him my favorite player at the club only challenged by Paulo Futre himself (you need to make a video about him too). Although it hurt to see him leave the club back in 2008, I got really pissed when they sent him away in 2016. Quaresma had given a very stingy interview where he a used the coaching staff, players and even the board members of being clueless about what the club was about. The team was in shambles and the influence Quaresma had over the supporters was immense. He was the prodigal son who came back home to give some hope to a club in a deep morale hole. Ahd he did it spectacularly becoming the bets player of the tesm and reminding supporters what the club should be. And this means he became a bother to the high patents running the club. Like in so many tings in life today, those who speak the truth are often discarded to protect the power in place.
It's a shame none of the teams Ronaldo played for seen the potential in linking them up, they would have devastated football together. I always wished he came to Liverpool
Brilliant video. When I think of Quaresma I think of extremely beautiful goals and crazy tricks. Totally get your fascination for this player but it's unlikely that literally every coach he had didn't like him or picked on him. There must be something about him that upset people around him. In the end, his team mates would probably stand up for him if he's really the good one and the coach was unfair on him. You can't be that unlucky and always be picked upon especially if you have these skills.
Just lack of discipline and lack of trust of authority(not wanting to follow the rules) due to experiences from his childhood So basically he is a troublemaker
This is ab solute BS. Sure, he may have a strong personality, but it doesn't mean he has to do much to not get picked. Mourinho treated him like crap, and I say this as a Mou fan and a portuguese. In the national team, before Santos he also didn't go for years after Carlos Queiroz also wasn't so nice to him. I hate when people don't give the benefit of the doubt to players without knowing what happened. You don't need to be a troublemaker to not get picked........sometimes you need only to be unique in some way...or different in how you relate to others....look at Pep shafting Zlatan, Etoo...some of the best strikers ever....Ronaldinho? At Barcelona he was green...at Inter, José didn't like him (nor would he fit his football) and at Chelsea I don't remember.
Quaresma the gipsy genius! Im a sporting fan and this guy is among the best, imagine the team with young Ronaldo on the left and young Quaresma on the right 😱
He is also my favorite player of all time. Because i grew up with him as a porto fan. Also at my work, i work with mostly portuguese, i was called quaresma by all the others. ^^ what a coincidance that it’s also your favorite player. My cousin has a signature of him.
Quaresma the most under rated player of all time he should’ve been spoken about the way we talk about Ronaldo, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Messi and Quaresma. An absolute juggernaut and it sucks we didn’t get to see him shine but he helped bring us a euro cup and that is already massive! Obrigado Quaresma you are the definition of Jogo Bonito!
Mid 2000's Portuguese league was something I will never forget. True pure ballers playing... Di Maria, Aimar, Liedson, Quaresma, man so many... Im so lucky to able to experience that Era. As a benfica fan, Quaresma was my favorite back then.
the way he plays football is just magical, a lot of players became famous by joining great teams, but for this guy he made team famous by joining them.
i really agree with Quaresma's mentality give everything till you can't although i broke my knee playing a youth cup final i still love football and still keep the medal and the trophy that they gave me as a symbol of hope and symbol of love for the game and still remember my trivela goal recreation from the 2018 world cup. hope to see him back at porto as well
He is my favorite too. I wish take they would take him to the world cup but I guess they have felix, podence, neto, guedes, rafa Silva, Andre Silva and so many more Portuguese attackers to support cr7 But I can dream
He was probably more technical than CR7. Bad relations with managers was a big factor in his carrrer, but in my opinion his characteristics in the style of play was the major factor. He is not a player that plays for the team., the team plays for him. In that Sense he "grabbed" to much the ball. In the end Soccer it's a team game.
You are a Portuguese i guess how can you say that. CR7 was more technical than him in every aspect. Open his Bolton game when he was introduced to the Old trafford, he was full of skills with fast feet, Dribblings, shots etc. and he does that in PL game. Ronaldo was chosen by united and ferguson. United was more powerful and richer team than Barcelona. If a player had offer those days from United, he goes to United not to Barcelona. Barcelona was in Chaos that year. They finished the league 6th position. they werent even in the UCL and trainer was fired. Who in the world would go to Barcelona if Alex Ferguson and PL champion wants him? does that even make sense? Some stupid Portuguese guy makes romantic story and social media spreads it like Virus.
Your channel is the best, the facts, the stories that come with it and the way you tell them, this is your favorite player? He would be in my top 30, of all time, I always him,
Thank u so much man, this brought me to tears 😭 I discovered him when he played for Porto, what used to be aljazeera sport is now being sport. They used to broadcast the Portuguese league and I'm so thankful for them doing so,quaresma made me love football with his unique style.I related him so we'll,his uniqueness and desire to be different
I want Quaresma back to Besiktas in no matter what Form. Headcoauch, chefscout, assistant. Doesn't matter I just wanna see him every game motivating the players.
Daniela Raaaw!🤪🤪 Thank u for this video. Hope Ric sees it. That last pic with him and cr7 is trully magic. Ow.. i was hoping u would show Quaresma riding the huge white stalion at guimaraes season opening. (Maybe it wasnt a stalion, but it was a powerfull beast 💪)
back in the day i had a friend always talk about quarezma never heard about it him untill i saw video in 2009 bro the guy has every thing pace skill speed flair trust me i think he can play into his mid 40's he's still pacey at 38/39 probably cam shit into the center and play a cam roll who knows but hes one of the last of the dying breed of street ballers left
I remember he said that football was just a paycheck for him.He didn’t have the desire to be great like Ronaldo or Messi so he never worked as hard as them.I respect his honesty but imagine how good he’d be if he had the desire to be great.
I remember playing CM 03/04... Several years since the game starts, i managed Barca. He's with the B team. Even the game's AI manager hates him hahaha. I reinstated him to the main team and never disappointing. His form be like 898999-- Best player for my Barca team with most assists ever. Of course with Anatoli Todorov up front.
Probably his best performance in a Portugal jersey was against Brazil in a friendly at the Emirates in London. He and Ronaldo put on a masterclass. They showed the world that jogo bonito wasn't in Brazil anymore.
cristiano ronaldo and quaresma was like Ronaldinho and ronaldo, it was mythical. Cristiano was pure work and talent, efficient, quaresma was a beast, product of talent and anger
I'm a grown man but seeing that Ronaldo and Quaresma embrace at the end, it got me emotional

I did always wish for him to be at a bigger club but that would take the cult like following and mystique away from him, his play and his character. This video does him justice, I thought he felt short but given his set backs, with coaches and clubs, I don't think Messi or Ronaldo could have overcame them. #RQ7
Had to have him on fifa team every year. Didn’t get to watch him play until his later years here in the US, unfortunately. Thank you for the video!
Quaresma on FIFA 15-18 was so much fun to play with
Quaresma always said he wouldn't change his game for anyone.
Best comment.
You should do q&a sometime! We don’t want to know just about the players, we’d love to know about the guy behind the videos a bit!
My favourite player of all time too... Such respect
Just lack of discipline and lack of trust of authority(not wanting to follow the rules) due to experiences from his childhood
So basically he is a troublemaker
@@neroflo57 chicken or the egg?
@@aaronlohr8477 haha... both
This is ab solute BS.
Im a sporting fan and this guy is among the best, imagine the team with young Ronaldo on the left and young Quaresma on the right 😱
If you are at a bar somewhere in Eastern Europe. The word Gypsy starts a bar fight, but Romani is the more socially acceptable version.
As someone who grew up with Quaresma at Barcelona. He was super TALENTED. But also super CURSED
He is also my favorite player of all time. Because i grew up with him as a porto fan. Also at my work, i work with mostly portuguese, i was called quaresma by all the others. ^^ what a coincidance that it’s also your favorite player. My cousin has a signature of him.
YES! I love that you said he's your favorite player ever. This guy is golden and I'm glad I get to hear his story, thank you.
You are right my friend... Quaresma one of the most talented player from Portugal
Thank you Mr.Portugal for your Video’s.
I didn’t knew the story behind Quaresma..My nephew is Fan of Ronaldo and Quaresma..That is why I know him..
The mustang! i always loved him at porto!! what a never understood genius!
Mid 2000's Portuguese league was something I will never forget. True pure ballers playing... Di Maria, Aimar, Liedson, Quaresma, man so many... Im so lucky to able to experience that Era. As a benfica fan, Quaresma was my favorite back then.
the way he plays football is just magical, a lot of players became famous by joining great teams, but for this guy he made team famous by joining them.
i really agree with Quaresma's mentality give everything till you can't although i broke my knee playing a youth cup final i still love football and still keep the medal and the trophy that they gave me as a symbol of hope and symbol of love for the game and still remember my trivela goal recreation from the 2018 world cup. hope to see him back at porto as well
As a Benfica fan I'm not that of a fan of him, but I can appreciate the skills
Bu adam bir efsaneydi bizim de efsanemizdi Beşiktaş taraftarı seni unutmadı hala çok özlüyor kalbimizde bir sevda olarak her zaman yer alacaksın❤🖤🥀🦅
Quaresma is the embodiment of what could have been if he really lived up to his potential.
Mourinho: "Ricardo, don't use the outside of your foot! Learn to use the left!!"
*Quaresma proceeds to score with the outside of his left foot*
He was my favorite player of all time too ❤💚
This guy was exciting to watch. Though his end product left a lot to be desired.
Obrigado por este vídeo. Sinto 100% o mesmo sobre ele
Thank you for making this video!
I was so happy when Portugal won the euros and when Ronaldo scored that free kick against Spain to secure the hat trick
Vamos lá Portugal 🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹
Adoro os teus vídeos
He is my favorite too.
I wish take they would take him to the world cup but I guess they have felix, podence, neto, guedes, rafa Silva, Andre Silva and so many more Portuguese attackers to support cr7
But I can dream
Extra talented and incredible player
2nd favourite player after Ronaldo Nazario. Thanks✌️
Gaucho and Okocha will always be the best dribblers there is. But this dude’s touch and ball control is just art.
Wow, what a video!
I have always wondered what happened to him because I don’t hear anything about him that much.
Some stupid Portuguese guy makes romantic story and social media spreads it like Virus.
he’s one of my favorite players i ressemble him toooo much same ethnicity (romani) same childhood same name same football playstyle
This guy will forever be the best showboat in my books,
Quaresma is one of the greatest wingers of all time. I've only ever seen him a few times, but he is electric. You need to let players like that play.
It wasn’t bad at the beginning but your English pronunciation are getting so much better !! 👏🏼
This is a beautiful story 😭😍
ramat gan,tel aviv is crazy thats two diffrent citys
I want Quaresma back to Besiktas in no matter what Form. Headcoauch, chefscout, assistant. Doesn't matter I just wanna see him every game motivating the players.

How beautiful it would be if they both finished their careers at Sporting ❤
Daniela Raaaw!🤪🤪
Thank u for this video. Hope Ric sees it.
That last pic with him and cr7 is trully magic.
Ow.. i was hoping u would show Quaresma riding the huge white stalion at guimaraes season opening. (Maybe it wasnt a stalion, but it was a powerfull beast 💪)
Underrated player of all time😢
back in the day i had a friend always talk about quarezma never heard about it him untill i saw video in 2009 bro the guy has every thing pace skill speed flair trust me i think he can play into his mid 40's he's still pacey at 38/39 probably cam shit into the center and play a cam roll who knows but hes one of the last of the dying breed of street ballers left
growing up as sporting fan, quaresma was definitely the hero
Great content ! The way you narrate seems like your whispering to me a big secret.
I remember he said that football was just a paycheck for him.He didn’t have the desire to be great like Ronaldo or Messi so he never worked as hard as them.I respect his honesty but imagine how good he’d be if he had the desire to be great.
He played so well for us in euro 2016
I remember playing CM 03/04... Several years since the game starts, i managed Barca. He's with the B team. Even the game's AI manager hates him hahaha. I reinstated him to the main team and never disappointing. His form be like 898999-- Best player for my Barca team with most assists ever. Of course with Anatoli Todorov up front.
I miss CM. It was my first football game and I was convinced it was shit until I played it and got hooked
Probably his best performance in a Portugal jersey was against Brazil in a friendly at the Emirates in London. He and Ronaldo put on a masterclass. They showed the world that jogo bonito wasn't in Brazil anymore.
Could you make a video on Cristian Tello cause I remember him being hyped up to be a wonder kid ?
His name just came to my mind.
Who remembers him putting the guy who injured CR7 in a head lock during the world cup?
this video made me Subscribe ! this is true love
cristiano ronaldo and quaresma was like Ronaldinho and ronaldo, it was mythical. Cristiano was pure work and talent, efficient, quaresma was a beast, product of talent and anger
In Italy we don't have good memories about him...I still remind his " trivelas " in San Siro, used to hit the pingeons!!!! 🤣🤣
