That is why I do enjoy to watch ManCity playing, because home or away the only thing they know is to attack...attack and attack, even costing them some losses.

If the striker stands way up front in an offside position that would make himself irrelevant to the defensive structure and create more space for the other team overload or simply dribble into the heart of your defense and get your teammates out of position. Second, imagine your defenders got the possession of the ball and looking for a outlet to pass the ball upfront but you are miles offside.... Your manager would sub you off in the 5th min of the game if you do that as a ST.

of course the trossard mistake leading up to red card was a vital turning point in the game, but maybe we should think why this actually happened. the lineup - 3 cdms in midfield was never gonna work. yes merino was good today but hes simply not gonna be that creative spark we need when we have so many players who are not technically adept (not merinos fault). this is why our build up play was so terrible and whilst we had the ball alot it was in the wrong areas 90% of the time. this is what led to trossards mistake.
