Most of that air is suctioned out during the exam, but some might remain and cause a little pain. Farting helps to ease it, tho. As for the b-hole, no patient I’ve ever had mentioned any pain there (except those with severe hemorroid cases). So yeah, pretty safe and painless procedure if done correctly.
