Yeah, first you think "Are You Really Okay" is this bright sounding release after "Ascensionism" - and then you realize what it's about and it breaks you.

I see people thinking AYRO is more upbeat after Acensionism but then the listen to the lyrics and realize what a punch in the emotional balls it truly is. I cry every time I listen to it. It almost broke me the first time I listened to it

    2:00 Dog: *Nah, I can't take this *💔
Ascensionism is such a masterpiece because of the absolute roller coaster of emotions that leaves you torn about the way you feel at the end.
Sadness, blissful anguish, anger (you're gonna watch me ascend), determination (I'll take what I want, then leave), and just a few seconds later (confusion and anger) "YOU MAKE WISH I COULD DISAPPEAR".
    This one messed me up.

This band have blown me away& this is coming from an old dude who’s gods were Led Zeppelin, Rush, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes, etc etc& I would not have believed that a band from today would move me, they are brilliant. Well done ST ❤👏👏👏👏👏

Thank you for reacting to the two songs in sequence. Just hearing “Are You Really Okay” for the first time and getting Pink Floyd vibes. The singing and production are more dramatic and definitely more powerful than anything from PF, due to ST’s broader palette. The subject is their lore around the goddess named Sleep, whereas PF delved into friendship and mental illness.

    1. Rain
    2. Take Me Back To Eden
    3. Ascensionism

Personally, Ascensionism edges out TMBTE for best song on the album for me. I think it is better song composition-wise, but TMBTE is a special epic for fans steeped in the lore (as is Euclid).
Ascensionism is, objectively, the best; TMBTE and Euclid are, subjectively, the best.

Loving the reaction, hearing you say how Are You Really Okay? how its a release after Ascensionism to me is so beautiful. Because if you listen to the melody its a semi bright and etherical song. But lyrically it's so deep and heavy. It really showcases Vessels voice and ability to show his emotions so well with it.

I'm pretty new to the band, have been listening to their third album only since last week, but it has blown me away. Chokehold and Take Me Back to Eden are thus far the ones with a tighter hold on me, but the latter is definitely the most emotional. The lyrics in Take Me Back to Eden are so good, far from the obvious, and I can feel them even not knowing the mythos or the lore the band's building for themselves. "Reset my patient violence along both lines of a pathway higher / Grow back your sharpest teeth, you know my desire." It brings me to tears, honestly.
Great videos - this one and others you've made on Sleep Token. I like how you allow the track to flow and add your comments here and there! Cheers!

It probably is. But the thing is that every single song has such immeasurable replay-value that I don't even know.

On the title track, those production bits made me feel it was supposed to be a “in the belly of the beast” type thing. The production felt really one dimensional up to that point and then you heard that growl panning and then suddenly massive reverb as if you were in a large cavernous space. Not sure if that was the intent but very cool regardless

I cannot emphasize this enough. From one drummer/ musician to another, really try to listen to lyrics at the same time. Your first impression of are you really ok could not have been more wrong, which I am sure you are aware of at this point. That is probably the most intense and lyrically heavy track on the album. Nothing light hearted or optimistic about it. Really work on active listening, focussing on all of the aspects at the same time. It will make you a better musician and a better content creator. It's something I learned a long time ago in my music undergrad studies. Good content though man. Keep it up.

This band isn't my favorite band. They don't make a favorite song of mine. But the collective work on this album I have to say, bridges so many genres and invites so many different people to listen that I can confidently say that this is probably the most vastly influential music album I've heard in the past 6-8yrs. With polyphia being the last rock based band I can put in this category.
