My school recognizes students with a 3.5+ GPA on the honor roll. Should I mention just that, or should I also highlight that I've maintained a GPA of 4.0+ every year?

Mention the qualifications at your school. Hopefully the colleges will see your GPA in the Grades section of the Education page. Good luck.

Since I am applying for college in my senior year, should I click grade 12 for my honors, or not?? I will be submitting my applications Nov 1 of my senior year.

Thank you for highlighting this portion of the common app. A q: do we include awards like national creative writing awards here too? Or does this not count as academic?

That sounds academic to me, so I encourage you to mention it within this section, especially if you would otherwise leave one of the up to five available entries in this section blank. Thank you for your kind words, and good luck.

If the high school has specialized academies, i.e. , Pre-Engineering Academy, that only 25 freshmen get accepted into per year, should that be listed in the honors section? Being a member of that academy requires extra math, science and engineering design, etc. classes.

Would you consider All-State Chorus befitting of the extracurriculars section or the honors section?
