Just a few years ago i was trying to build or buy a smaller whoop that fits the 03 air unit, it wasn't really feasible at the time. fast forward just a few years and its here! this is great!
Looks good for a small compact, get her done type of quad. I'm working myself back down the chain of batteries vs quads. That meaning, I started off with the tinyhawk freestlye 2s. Then there was the Droner by catylyst and it was 3s analog. Then the rotor riot hd1 6s dji. I stayed 6s for a while then built a speedy bee 35 6s which i really like. So now im getting the itch to build something like a 2.5 with the 04 lite running a 3s. I think thats going to be the sweet spot (for a while) for the 04 lite for me at this point of my journey through FPV. And to those who are going thorugh it. It defintely is an experience! Good shhh boyyyyyy. Keep up the good work Justin edit: Damn thats cheap wow
Overheating happens on walksnail 1s as well. I put copper heatsink plates on mine and it fixed it. Have to get in a different habit with the vtx of only powering on when you are absolutely ready to lift off. Plug in and arm.
It's all fun and games until you need to offload 30GB of footage off that WS 1s board because it needs battery power for that and it overheats before you can do that over that slow USB connection! I actually have a little battery powered fan that I use for these occasions. At least the O4 can be USB powered and it stays much, much cooler during data transfer or firmware updates. Plus it has a normal USB-C port onboard, no need for stupid proprietary adapter cables... The WS 1S stays cool enough in any weather as soon as the props start spinning, so I'm pretty sure there won't be issues with O4 either in that regard.
@c0t1d0s0 Thanks for the comments guys. I have the FPV bug after buying an Avata 2, and now I want to step into the FPV world for real. Overheating was my concern with this, but judging by your responses, there are always workarounds. If overheating on warm days becomes an issue, I guess DIY fixes will start popping up, but does warranty cover any overheating issues if the unit isn't taken apart? Sorry for the question, I spent two days researching FPV and feel I have a lot of days more reading. I fly the Avata 2 manually and spend time in the sim, now it's buying the right cinewhoop for smaller spaces.
Looking to get started in FPV after watching from the sidelines for the past couple years. This unit looks to fit the bill since I want to get started in the digital side vs analog. What would be the recommended goggle and remote pairing? Thanks!
Nice vid, thanks! 👏 How do i know what RC's are compatible? I wanna get into FPV droning and wanna buy a good RC that would be compatible with all (or most) FPV's, be they DIY or not. Any model to advise? 😊

what kind of range will this little guy have , great price for what you get and flies great Justin thank you . I too would like to see more in this price range , and a long distance version if any are out there.
Easily a mile +. Remember you need a little more battery size to make it out and back. Range depends on wind, temperature, throttle management, and battery health.
Slick, but 54.5g is heavier than I expected. Looks like that new canopy weighs quite a lot. I've just put an O4 Lite into a Pavo Pico and it's at 53 grams. That includes a Pavo20 canopy that I used for better camera protection and which is 2g heavier than the original Pavo Pico canopy, plus some 3D printed parts to mount the camera and the VTX. And it has 45mm props on 1102's as opposed to 40mm so more efficient. I get over 6 min cruising on a 2s 550mAh. Also, looking at the spec sheets these new 1102 14000KV Lava motors, they produce a little bit more max power that the original non-Lava 1102 14000KV motors used on the Pico, but weigh 0.4g more and are less efficient at lower power. I do dig the new camera mount on that thing though.
Does it come assembled? Their website shows assembly. Also, the website said they have 300 units but doesn't let you know if they are in stock or sold out. Does anyone know?
little confused, what all does it come with.. everything but battery basically? as the description lists recommended parts as if I need to purchase motors and such separately??
How would you say the power, performance, agility is compared to the DJI Neo? I have a Neo and I understand its limitations. Its not an acro drone by any means. Wondering how the Femto staks up against it, if you happen to remember your experience with the Neo.
@@dronecamps Yeah, clumbsy is a good way to put it. Especially with their weird auto-orientation-correction thing where the drone says "nope" and reels backwards trying to level itself when you push it too hard. A couple days ago I went through the link you have posted and ordered one without the o4 unit bc I already have one waiting to be installed. Do you think a 3s can be used on this since the FC is rated for 2-3s and the same one used in the pico?

I even 3d printed a soft mount for the camera, to eliminate all the vibrations but It's like crap.. it's weird that i didn't had this issue on o3.. with no EIS the footage is great, but i used the EIS for sharp turns and so..
@ it seems that others are having the same issue with frames specially designed for o4.. and i’ve used all kind of frames with all kind of vtx.. and the only time that i had this issue was when the PWM frequency on the ESC was set to 24kHz and was messing around with the o3’s gyro frequency.. and again, if not using EIS, the footage is great..
The Pico needs a new PID tune with this much lighter payload, with the stock tune and the O4 it was a bit shaky and twitchy. Also, it could be noisy power messing with the gyro as the Pico lacks the capacitor on the power leads because BetaFPV in their infinite wisdom decided that it does not need one. Anyway with a custom tune and the cap my footage is fine. Is there a cap on the Femto?

I agree with you about HD system overheating, I have the Mobula6 HDZero eco quad and it overheats extremely quickly when static. Even when using turtle mode after crashing, the VTX gets extremely hot and sometimes overheats if not quick enough. These small HD systems offer very nice video quality but I find them a bit stressful to use as a fairly beginner pilot that crashes quite a lot
