Hi Jayda I’m going to make this Cowl Scarf for my wife. I really enjoy your Tutorials you really explained the process. I think you are wonderful instructor. I’m just learning this craft. Sincerely Anthony Ciotti
Hi Jayda. You are a great teacher for crochet. I’m a beginner at this craft. I really enjoy tutorials. What part of Canada are you from. My mother is from Montreal. Sincerely Anthony Ciotti
Yay!! I'm going to make this. My friend gave me a ball of this for my birthday and I was thinking of what to eventually make with it. Now I know what to make with it. Thanks Jayda!!
Just accidentally found this tutorial while scanning for another tutorial, this is awesome and is easy to follow. Am using premier puzzle yarn and it is a 5 yarn and a 7 hook it is turning out well as far as size /fit is concerned. Thank you for sharing this easy tutorial.
This is on my list to do definitive for Christmas . I usally do theses with different yarns but I really love scarfie and the projects that come out of it that I will do this project with it. Shocker the holidays are near!
I love the color. I must make me one for fall. Goings-on a hay ride next Sat evening it will be chilly out so it will be great to have something warm on my head. Thank you for sharing. I bought a Fox looking one several years ago at a gift store for my granddaughter. I loved it. She still wears it too.
Hi Shirley, we have a live stream series on how to do that 😊 You can catch those here: Part 1: th-cam.com/video/0tR7DlbDp9Q/w-d-xo.html Part 2: th-cam.com/video/yKNmlc-3o0A/w-d-xo.html
Always wanted to make this, I am so glad that I finally got around to it. LOL 🎉❤😊 This is fantastic, it's really easy I think I might make a few more. If I sell one, I wonder what to charge!?!? Well thanks so much for sharing 😊 I love your videos. ❤❤
I've completed the brick cowl, just trying to figure out how to share on your channel. I used yarnspirations Bernat Blanket for it. I think I will downsize the bulk weight for next one.
I’m not sure if anyone else asked this but if I wanted to make this a little wider, how long would the initial chain be? For kids you said do a chain of 60 and adults a chain of 72, am I right to say that as long as you do it in increments of 12 it will work and I could make it slightly bigger if need be? This is sooo BEAUTIFUL btw! 😊
I don’t usually make cowls, because I don’t think I suit the kind that just sits around my neck - I feel I look like a tortoise/turtle peering out of its shell! I do like this, though. I could pull it up like a hood, which would give a completely different look, and I would not even have to wear a hat with it. I can see a cowl project in my near future. Thank you, Jayda. 😀
Hi Eleanor! That's a Knit Picks Rainbow Wood hook, I love those rainbow wood hooks. We find them at various craft stores, and I think this one in particular came from Mary Maxim.
Hi Jolleen, yes, Mandala is a lighter weight yarn, so you may have to make your foundation chain longer. Make sure it's a multiple of 3 and can fit over your head 😊
I want to make this for my niece who has a lot of hair. I don’t think the foundation chain would be long enough for the head covering will be large enough. What are the multiples for this pattern? Thanks
My brain is definitely on games! I told my husband that the scarf made me think of the Like-Likes in Zelda LOL (I wouldn't normally tell someone something like that but I know that you will get it lol )
Hi, this entire pattern is built using that stitch, so the foundation chain count, row count and the tension etc. all tie into that particular stitch. That said, I can't recommend another stitch pattern for use with this Cowl pattern without trying one out. We have other cowls patterns that can be made extra deep for wearing as a hood here: th-cam.com/play/PLU-tvdaf-FndEGqFxGh3DhP_Ge865t-ib.html

Hi Gwen! Just 1 Scarfy 😁

Hi Eleanor! That's a Knit Picks Rainbow Wood hook, I love those rainbow wood hooks. We find them at various craft stores, and I think this one in particular came from Mary Maxim.
Hi jayda I love this but I don't have any scarfie yarn could I use just a mandala ombre
Hi Jolleen, yes, Mandala is a lighter weight yarn, so you may have to make your foundation chain longer. Make sure it's a multiple of 3 and can fit over your head 😊
Thanks for sharing!!! Have a good morning!!!
Hi Traci, thank you, you too!
Yay!
Hi Jennifer! 😁
I want to make this for my niece who has a lot of hair. I don’t think the foundation chain would be long enough for the head covering will be large enough. What are the multiples for this pattern? Thanks
Hi! Any multiple of of 3 plus 1 on the end 😊
My brain is definitely on games! I told my husband that the scarf made me think of the Like-Likes in Zelda LOL
(I wouldn't normally tell someone something like that but I know that you will get it lol )
LOL, well this didn't spit me out, thank goodness!
You look lovely in the blue...
Thank you Sonja 💗
Where did you get that beautiful crochet hook?
Hi Marsha, that's a Knit Picks Rainbow Wood. They are carried in many different craft stores, I think we found this one at Mary Maxim 😊
I just want to ask what do you do if you don't want to do the brick stitc
Hi, this entire pattern is built using that stitch, so the foundation chain count, row count and the tension etc. all tie into that particular stitch. That said, I can't recommend another stitch pattern for use with this Cowl pattern without trying one out. It's beautiful, but I have allergy to wool. I do have some 5 weight acrylic yarn, would that work ok?
Hi Jill! Yes, any size 5 yarn that you like the feel of 😊
@@JaydaInStitches thank you
@@JaydaInStitches Hey Jayda. Do you have the measurements for this cowl for a 2-4 year old child? My sister is asking me to make for her daughters.
Making mine with caron latte cakes
Hi Steve! That's going to be lovely 😁
Sadly I cannot wear Scarfie due to the wool content. What size yarn would you suggest to get the same loftiness and drape?
Hi! Size 5 chunky/bulky, anything that has a nice fluffiness to it 😊
@@JaydaInStitches Thank you so much for the info! I can't wait to go thru my stash and find some bulky yarn 💜
Hi , can you please tell how much yarn is needed for this??
HI Megha! The materials section is right after the intro, I used the whole skein for this 😊
Amazing ❤🎉
Thank you Elle 😄
Love SCARFIE yarn but I think it’s discontinued 😢
Was excited for this pattern but I keep having to restart because it keeps getting twisted somewhere
Hi Ashlyn, if you find your foundation row keeps twisting on you, try working flat on your work surface as opposed to lifting it into the air 😊
Did this only take one skein?
Yes 😊

Pretty hook?
Hi Tammy, that's a KnitPicks Rainbow Hook 😊
Jayda, this cowl is gorgeous & I love how you can wear it to cover the head too! Gonna get the yarn & make it right away!!🤗😍
Hi Liz! Thank you so much for watching 😊
How long would this take to make it
Hi Key, everyone crochets at a different speed, so that's a difficult question to answer. I crochet very quickly and this cowl took me about an hour to make.
Does it have to be scarfie
Hi Melody, no, but a size 5 fluffy yarn is recommended 😊
@@JaydaInStitches thank you
