I'm pretty insecure on guitar but being able to rock this one makes me feel like I can play a little bit.
No such thing as a bad guitar player just another person with a talent starting to show so if you mess up think of it as an opportunity to get creative
If you can *play this whole thing, I'd say you have no reason to be insecure!
The truth is learning songs you know by heart, even the faster ones. You'll be surprised how fast you can learn them.
I am a very beginner how much maximum u think it can take me to play this piece
You'll get better. After only 2 years of restarting guitar I was pulling off techniques I wouldnt have dreamed of being able to do at the beginning

"Note for note just like Nokie played live in Japan on the 'Beloved Invaders' tour documentary film from 1966."
PS: Very few guitarists were bending guitar strings like that in 1966. Supposedly Nokie was influenced by blues players like Albert and Freddie King, as well as Chet Atkins use of the thumb-pick.

Really might have to look into these modeling amp/plug in's! They really bring the desired sound to life. I've been playing thru my mesa boogie roadster for 14 years now. While i love it's 4 channels and versatility it really cant dial in some of these 60's vintage sounds the way the plug in's can. Really solid playing as always Tom!

I used to play this back in the day, the 70's but nothing like you just did. I watch all version's of this classic and your version Sir is definitely in the top 3 and there must be a least a million versions. Very nice job, I listen to all your playing. New sub Tom

Great job! I saw the Ventures live a number of times. All in smaller venues. Once at a place close to us with table seating and we were right up front next to Nokie.
That was the last time they were all still together.

For sure it was great. And I saw Mel's son play after Mel had died. Wow he looked like his dad and played the drums just like him.
I even talked with Nokie on the phone a few year before he passed away. I had ordered something from his web page. The Ventures are why I started playing. I have a number of Venture music books long before Tab.

I'd really like to see a Ventures version of California Dreaming from you : ) PS I love your backing tracks.
This is a cover of the Ventures' cover of the Animals' cover of a Bob Dylan version of a traditional folk song.
The third verse should be one octave higher in: "And is been the ruin of many all poor boys" and remain there for the rest of song. That gives the song the strenght that made this song succeed worldwide.
Check out The Ventures live version. That is what I based this on.
