As kids we used to walk trackside to Bescot (outside the fence of course 😊). Pre TOPS used to have LOADS of stuff there. Fond memories. On occasions when it was a really wet trek , we used to have to wring our socks out and put them on the radiator in the ticket office to dry off before getting our train tickets to go onto New Street station.
