Sounds silly but I wanted to play this song so much even though I'm just a beginner who started three weeks ago. You made so easy to understand that after two days I can almost play the entire thing. There is no way of me describing how grateful I am. Thank you so so much!!! ❤
Ive been trying to get this song right for I dont know how many years...always playing 'simpified (open) chords' that never sounded right. Always intimidated by these chords. Never realised it needed a capo! Youve helped me see the light and I am no longer afraid of these chords. I can play it and Im loving it !!!!thanks sooooo much !!
I’ve been playing the guitar for 6 weeks now and this is by far best teaching of the Wonderwall strumming pattern. Thanks very much , you’re a brilliant at what you do.
I love your videos. I picked my guitar back up just a few weeks ago, and already I can see improvement. Your teaching style is wonderful and easy to follow. :)
I am 52 years old from the UK I have been trying to learn acoustic guitar from online videos (Some better some much worse) I love THIS wonderwall video it takes it pretty slowly and builds up and presenter has great attitude I had almost given up on this song but thanks to this video I'm inspired again and slowly getting back om track Thanks so much your efforts are much appreciated
I used to play VERY BASIC stuff and only about 2 songs total when I was about 12 ish years old. I am now 27 , and I'm teaching myself how to play all over again , and it's been a while and it's been stressful , But I've watched a lot of videos trying to teach me how to play , and YOURS IS THE ONLY ONE THAT STUCK OUT ! I've been sticking with it and you have helped me come so far ! Especially with learning this beautiful song . My husband also really loves that I have a new aspiration in progress !! So Thank you so much ! 🫵🏼👌🏼🤘🏼
Hey Lauren, your way of teaching is simply impeccable. I've been trying to get the rhythm right for the past few days. Today, I looked at this tutorial and in just a few moments I was able to hit it correctly. The breakdown coupled with the tips on adding an extra up/down strum really did the trick. Thank you for the efforts you put in and making us look cool.
Thank you for teaching this. I've been working on it for a while and this lesson has helped pull it together for me. Thanks too for not dumbing it down - it's tricky but so satisfying when it sounds right.
You have a real gift for simplification, Lauren - I watched a ton of Wonderwall lessons from other great teachers (hello Justin/Marty/Andy! etc) and nailed the chords easily, as you say - but it was only when I caught your vid that the penny suddenly dropped about this song suddenly becoming a LOT easier when you realise that many of the chord changes in that iconic intro actually happen on the UP-strums, not something that comes instinctively to a lot of beginner guitarists...🤦♂🎸
I have watched every wonderwall video trying to get the strumming pattern. Yours was the only one that went through it slow enough. Thank you so much!!!
Hello Lauren, i would like to thank you for your enthusiasm what you are putting into your work . I started to play on a guitar for a very first time in my life 2 months ago (im 34 years old ) and i accidentally bumps into this video and i was like okey i have to learn thís song no matter of cost . (i was thinking that it is not a good idea to start learning this as a beginner ) nevertheless after 14 days of practicing 2 hours a day -no excuses : i,m able to play almost whole thing . And it is so rewarding . Thank you very much and have a great day Kind Regards from Czech Republic
What I immediately liked about this tutorial is that you call it an 'intermediate' song, as opposed to 'easy' or 'beginner' song which is what practically every other tutor on TH-cam refers to it as ... so I feel less bad that I struggle with the strumming rhythm a lot! Mind you it is basically day one for me (more or less).
Honestly your channel deserves more subscribers...great lesson...love how you repeat many times the concept...also great energy while you are singing...instantly subscribed and liked ! ty from Italy
Hi, as beginner basically was determined learn this song but obviously strumming patterns I found very tough, checked around TH-cam and with way you explain I finally got it, awesome teaching 🎶👌👌🤘🤘
Wow Lauren, just stumbled on your channel, loving it. Ive been practicing this strum for over an hour, now I have a nosebleed and I’ve forgotten my own name!!
Been trying to get this rhythm for ages and tried a few UTube guitarists. You are definitely the best and I am now strumming to the tunes. (Albeit slowly) Thanks :)
So I'm just starting n liked ur 1st video I saw on how to play gutair Sunday night but turned out I gotta tune the gutair. Saw u did wonderwall while looking how to tune with a tuner. My anniversary is September 25th plan to know that song by then. I'm 52 n have been doin the rv life for 3 yrs with my husband. Working in the mountains of Montana this summer n planning to stay. Always by a fire n I want to learn gutair
Brilliant tutorial thanks Lauren. It’s sounding better every time I improve the strum from watching this once or twice…😃 You are great fun to learn with. Your playing expressions are fantastic and you can sing.
Thank you so much for your great videos Lauren, would it be possible to request a video on that provides a beginners guide on how to play and sing at the same time?
@@LaurenBateman So important as you stressed that you do the strumming seperate and to get to the level where it comes naturally, then and only then get the chords matched in. Thank you 🥰
I'm breaking this tune down bit by bit. I've saved this video so that I can do just that. I want to learn this one, I'm going to make it happen... The first time I practiced through the strumming I said the same thing... "Holy Crap"!💩 I'm seeing strumming patterns in my head...🎵🎶 Thanks Teach...🍎
As a beginner I love your breakdown of this classic 👍 I’m probably jumping the gun here a bit but I’m gonna take it on bit by bit and nail it even if it’s the last thing I do I don’t care how long it takes 🤣
This is too difficult for me at the moment. But maybe, one day 🎵, I will be able to learn it. This is the easiest lesson I have found to follow. Thanks for sharing 😃
I’m so happy you’ve confirmed it’s not just me that can’t do both concurrently. I can sing some notes and play some chords but it goes very wrong when I try both. I feel like a child learning to balance. So I’m Gona stop trying until I can play them without trying.
Between Lauren, Justin and Andy, I am making pretty good progress on this classic tune. Thanks guys! X Lauren really helped me with the chord change timing. Justin helps with nailing the strumming pattern and Andy is just great to listen to because I love his northern accent.
Is this amazing Wonderwall song good for beginners like me who have been playing guitar for a year? You are very good at explaining any song every single detail
Hi Padella, depends on your skills after a year. Most of my students could probably attempt this if they have completed my 7 Level Beginner Course and my Intermediate strumming course. Or at least understand what 16th notes are.
"Holy crap!?" Language Lauren! Lol That weird timing is natural to those of us from the North of England! Lol Again, another awesome lesson, thank you.
Thank you, Benn for the recommendation. I get lots of song requests so I cannot guarantee that I will get to it, but I will definitely add it to my list.

One more question. For the a7sus4 after the walk down do you play the dduudu 2x or 4x?
Not sure if the top of my head. Try it both ways and see which one sounds right. That will help you start to trust your ear
Love it❤
Glad to know!
For the cadd9/em7/g/em, are you also using an em7 or a regular em?
Em7
1st vid to fully explain the parts after the intro😊
Thanks for watching!
If a person has a couple buddies one can tackle the percussive strum, one can tackle the core strum and the singer can go on auto pilot.
Yeah, great to play with friends
Fabulous
Thanks!
If I use the metradone to practice the strum - what speed would I use.
Whatever speed works for you. Ultimately you want to get as fast as 100-120

stuck like glue, also known as buster chords?
Buster chords. Interesting. First time hearing that. That's for sharing.
What does "sus" stand for? It's easier to remember what it means in practical means than just to remember "sus" without the meaning to it.
Sus stands for suspended. Great question. 😊 So sus2 means suspend a 2nd over the chord while sus4 means suspend a 4th over the chord.

Em, G add 9,Dsus4,
Yep
Wow
Just wondering whye every online teacher teaches a different strumming pattern?
I've counted at least 5 different ones so far
